I had an HR54 700 installed with 3 minis a couple of weeks ago. After setting several timers and having them completed I attempted to watch one of the recordings. The DVR was auto deleting them until eventually all of the recordings were gone. I called tech support and was sent to protection plan support. The rep. (after a couple of hours total and a few resets) had no idea what the issue could be so he scheduled a tech visit. The tech installed a new HR54 of the same model and left. This did not resolve my issue so he came out and moved the box to another room. Still not resolved. We are single family home without the possibility of neighbor interference. The tech checked the power outlet and found no issue. Any idea how to resolve?

go to menu > recordings > manage recordings > series defaults. one of the options there is for auto deleting programming.

Currently the setting is on Keep until I delete on Record Defaults. I have also tried the setting on "Keep until disk is full". All of the timers start as normal but the recordings don't last on the DVR at all. Many delete before they are finished. I have even replaced our router from TWC but still no change. We had a Samsung UHD with the DVR at first but moved it to a Vizio but no change.

The TV wouldn't be the issue.

weird question i know, but you're not sharing an internet connection with someone else who has D* are you?

How are you setting the timers? By using the R button when you have selected the program in the guide?

I have used both the R button and select. This is happening with series timers as well. It is impossible to watch a recording from the DVR.

What does history tell you about these deletions?
If you try to watch a recording while it is in progress (NOT the live channel) what do you see?

I get the (1001) code associated with the HR54 on history. It will allow playback while still on the DVR. The issue is that the recordings aren't staying on the DVR long enough to be watched. It is as if something or someone is controlling the DVR but deleting all recordings even on demand.

Any other family members? Could be a Hard Drive error. Have you tried CLEARMYBOX

The settings were changed to only allow deletions from the HR54 so no one else can delete. Also this is our second new HR54 in two weeks and the issue has been the same.

Do you have Genie minis? Even if you set for deletions only from the HR54 a mini can delete (because it's really part of the HR54).

There are 3 minis but this is happening all hours of the day while no one is home. The code always is connected with the HR54 name. MBHR54(1001). I do not see a ClearMyBox for the HR54. We have performed all types of resets as requested by Tech Support.

I'm pretty sure a mini deletion will show as an HR54 one.
Just as a test, try unplugging all the Minis from their coax. see if programs are still being deleted.

The minis actually will be identified as the source of deletion if recordings were deleted from them. The source is the HR54.
