OTHER Manhattan RC-1978 changing channel on its own

Hi everyone,

Yesterday I set up a Manhattan RC-1978 where I work. It will only be used to receive one thing . Got it working and tuned to the channel I needed and left it for the night. This morning it was on the incorrect channel. My only guess is that it somehow changed on it's own. Has anyone had this happen to them? It is positioned in a rack behind other equipment and I am positive nobody used the remote to change the channel. I wasn't able to find something in the settings that would let me lock it to the specific channel I need.

Unlikely that a satellite receiver will change channels on its own.

If not the 1978 remote, possibly a different remote sharing the same IR code?

Fluorescent, CFL or LED room lighting?

If only used to receive one channel, delete all other channels placing the target channel in position one. This way, the channel cannot be changed, even if rebooted.

Thanks for the response. There is florescent lighting in the room but it is a good 10-15ft above the rack so that probably wouldn't be causing any interference. I think... The plan for now is to just leave it be and see if it changes on it's own again. I

it's not equipment that is critical to on air so if it happens again it will be more of an annoyance than anything else.

I was hoping to find some sort of channel changing lock out but no luck with that. I am all for just deleting the channels we don't use but my boss does not want to go that route just yet.

Fluorescent lights can definitely do it, even from 15' away. I've had issues with flourescents before. If it does it again, put some heavy tape over the IR receiver and see if it stops. Or shut the flourescents off for a night.
