iOS 12 beta

Google Maps on Car play is awesome. And you can switch to satellite right from the carplay screen, in settings. Very slick. Apple Maps will probably get pushed back to the second screen of apps.

Questions for those already on iOS 12:

1. Is it possible yet to dismiss all notifications at once, or do you still have to dismiss one at a time until you go back far enough where they are grouped?

That, plus the bug where my MS band keeps repeating the same notifications over and over until I dismiss them on the phone, is annoying.

2. Will the app store automatically update yet, or will there be dozens of updates waiting whenever I think to open the store and check? Yes I have the auto update feature turned on, but it doesn't work.

You can clear all when there are multiple notifications from the same app. Swipe, and clear all is an option. If you don't touch the clear all it will just clear the first notification.

Not sure on #2. I don't do auto-update.

I downloaded the update to my iMac but I haven't applied it to the iPhone 8 yet. It's a weekend project.

Got my watch.

Just setting it up now, but the screen... WOW. When it asked me to enter a code the number screen was so big and easy to type on compared to the 42 MM. I did not think and extra 2 MM would make so much difference but it does.

The more iDevices you have the less attractive downloading a copy for each device becomes.
Well that's true, but unless they're all identical models, you'll be downloading a copy for each one any way you do it. Not like Windows or MacOS where you can get an ISO/DMG and install every machine from it, each copy of iOS is customized for the specific device model configuration.

The watch refused to pair with my iPhone X. Need to install iOS 12... :(
Installing it now.

You know you can download it direct to the phone over WiFi, right? Took less than an hour for me.
Sure, that's true, but I'm still using iTunes to back up my iPhone. Until Apple gives us all 32 GB of included iCloud space (or, really, Apple, don't we pay enough in ?Tax when we purchase new devices that we should get our device's capacity in iCloud storage gratis?) I'll use my local storage. Plus, I have AT&T U-verse ADSL with a coffee-stirrer-sized upload speed of 1.5 Mbps. Synching over WiFi would be painful.

Now, the incremental updates to iOS are packaged differently, so I will update over the air (usually a few hundred MB versus two GB for the iTunes package) and is therefore faster, but since this was a new version, I clicked on the "Download and install later" while I was able to remove my iPhone and go do other things.
Interersting how much bigger it looks in the shot. I did the same, and the differencde seems minor. BUT when I received a text message, it was much more readable.
I saw over on MacRumors one of the members say the 40 mm ?Watch Series 4 has the same screen area as the old 42 mm ?Watch. I have to say I will probably end up with that size when supply catches up and our EPP discount kicks in.
