If you had said "you'll pay more per channel", then I'm with you. But that's not what you said. Are Canadians really paying more in total for their pay TV than they were before? If so, I would like to see the evidence.

They're paying more for everything. Canada is still a British colony. Members of the British monarchy are pictured on their currency.

Prices are higher, taxes are higher, salaries are higher, dollar value is lower, tv packages are different. That's a lot of variables to consider. I guess you could compare tv package prices as a percentage of take home pay. My guess is that the costs in Canada are no higher than here, and may even be lower.

If their dollar is worth less, but the equivalent package costs more, doesn't that make it even more expensive than the price would indicate?
