Orby TV Just Installd mine

I have the 39.00 a month Xfinity Blast or whatever it's called 60 mbps.
13.00 a month for the technicolor gateway .

Sent from my SM-G930T using the SatelliteGuys app!
In 2004 Comcast Internet here was $39 per month IF I paid another $15 for 20 locals. If I did not buy the locals they charged $79 for just Internet. They did not drop the local requirement for a discount until 2015. Now they just include 20 locals with the Internet service for $69. Go figure.

The bill is $69.99. The rest is an $8 broadcast fee and taxes.
Performance Pro Internet Download speeds up to 150 Mbps

I’m surprised Comcast is that expensive for that speed. I pay that, $80 for 1Gbps/1Gbps fiber. 100/100 is $50 per month here. It’s provided by our electric cooperative. Of course you don’t get any TV with that.

Said no one ever! :biggrin

They’re not that big in this area. I rarely see ads for them. Most of the ads around here in this TV market are for Charter Spectrum, so I am used to seeing the ads for their ‘introductory’ pricing. They’re probably the same way after the deals end. I doubt fiber would be as reasonable if it were supplied by anyone other than the co-op.

The dish doesn't appear to be skewed, though...
If you look at the DIRECTV dish, it doesn't appear to be skewed a great deal either so the chances are pretty good that the pictures' location is somewhere relatively West where the dishes wouldn't need to be skewed much as compared with what you would need at 94-95W. Near the eastern border of Oregon and Washington, the skew/tilt would be zero.

The non-penetrating mount may need some more ballast due to the new biplane configuration.

This is what happens when franchising is the order of the day: A cable company wins the bid for the franchise and all other cable companies are shut out.

Even though it's only an SD service?

Wow ... I remember the days when both DIRECTV and DISH were taking regular beatings of complaints from many subscribers clamoring for more HD. And many hated and even refused to watch SD any longer.

Also, what kind of format is the SD in?

Widescreen 16:9 SD (or down-converted HD)?

Or center-cut, letter-box, or anamorphic SD into 4:3?

And sort of surprised this service would chose 117w which is definitely not a good slot for serving all of North America.

As many, particular in the NE, are going to suffer LOS issues, which is one of the main reasons DIRECTV is abandoning 119w and DISH had to develop an EA service.

It's a mix of sd and hd...format 16:9 wide...117 is tight..but once locked your gold..pq like I said is very good..same with audio...we have had major storms in the area and was surprised there was no fade whatsoever..yes, channel selection is slim, but it's channels we like...add on the 41 locals I get,(on same guide)..excellent....ease of use, I own ALL of the equipment, no taxes, no fees,no sir charges,...no need to complain...and as you guys know...if you have 5000 hd channels...you can only watch one.

Oh ... ok ...

My bad then as LyngSat has Orby TV color-coded as "SD Encrypted" with only two Ku transponders on Eutelsat 117A at 117w.

So assumed that was correct with such a limited bandwidth of two tps. even with HEVC and 8-PSK.

But hey, I'd like to look into this more as I've had DIRECTV for coming up on 24 years now. And is costing a fortune even with major discounts every month.

But I have six receivers here and DIRECTV's Premier package.

So with no receiver leasing option don't know how I'd handle the high upfront equipment cost Orby TV would require coupled with the major loss of available channels compared to DIRECTV Premier.
