I cancelled my Dish after about 7 years. The CSR was fine, she gave it a half hearted attempt to get me to sign up for something else but I just told her they were not even close to youtube TV and she relented. There are some things I'll miss, mostly the lag time in switching channels but I've been using youtube tv for 2 months and it's fine. Next I have too see if I can plug in two rokus and do PIP when footballs starts.

Seriously, what were the reasons (pros and cons) that led you to this decision?

Youtube TV has a very good lineup for the money with one exception - the Hallmark channels, and we all know what momma (or grandma in this case) says about that - No show? No go!

Frankly they could ditch about a third of those channels and add in Hallmark and it would still be a good deal. Cheddar? Tastemade? TYT? And why not make all the hispanic channels an add-on for those who want them? Nah, I'll stick with Flex for now.

The channel lineup is great for me. I need the SEC, B1G and the ESPN's and they are there. I've gone to Amazon, Netflix and the Criterion Channel for movies and hit HBO when there is something I really want. The Roku makes navigation pretty good on youtube TV, it's not as fast as Dish when you jump channels but I've gotten used to that. The Roku remote also setup easily to run the three TV's I have and it's tiny in comparison to the Dish one. The unlimited cloud DVR and the ability tot watch on 3 devices at the same time also cancel out the hopper and Dish anywhere. I'm retiring in 31 days ands a wake up and reducing the monthly bill from $169 to $50 was also Important. I'm not in a great place for an antenna but I may give one of them a shot as well.

A couple of Hopper3 features keeps me with them but I'm getting closer to Dumping Dish TV...Good-Luck!

Does you tube broadcast in Dolby 5.1?

What I'm seeing is "on select devices" . If I put on my VA hearing aid I'm good but I still have to do CC for the Brit crime shows! As far as audio, anything beyond that is a waste. 105's and dead shows wrecks me!

I’d be interested in hearing how the PIP idea works out.
