Was just on the phone with one of the TiVo CSRs checking up on a lineup submission, and she wasn't too bright, but I've actually had a lot of similar ones just like her. I am actually relieved when I get one with some brains.

It’s all in the Philippines. I called in 2 days ago to opt out of the pre roll ads and had to repeat myself 3 times to get the point across I didn’t care if TiVo thought forcing ads on me a free feature, I didn’t agree to it and I wanted it removed. Finally he suddenly found the opt out option and said it would take 48-72 hrs.

Now if only they would make those stupid TiVo + ads they’ve added to the guide removable too.

It’s hard to recommend TiVo in its current incarnation of pre-roll ads and forced guide ads. Way too expensive to have that stuff forced upon the consumer.

Geez. I called again to double-check on something after something else was fixed that I thought I actually cancelled, so I asked “The lineup team did not forget about this other issue, did they?” And the CSR said “Yes”. When going through what we talked about, she probably meant “No”. I mean, come on! You don’t say “Yes, they didn’t forget”, you say “No, they didn’t forget”. But that lady was a flat out moron.

They are also separating the Hardware and IP parts of the company into separate entities, so the hardware side needs some other income generators. I just don't think they should have forced this on to customers with devices that already paid for All In Lifetime services. If they wanted to add it to new customers and new hardware, that's fine. Let people be aware going in, that it will have some ad supported mechanisms.

So far no pre-roll ads now on my Bolts, since I called in. Still have the annoying grey arrow screen for a second where the ads would have been. Unfortunately there is no getting away from the annoying guide ads, without rolling back to TE3.
