We’ve got our primary home and an RV we use frequently. When we built our home in 2018, I wanted the Genie 2, and I knew the limitations of only one genie per account, so we got a second account for our RV and use a HR54 with a couple wireless clients, also on our RV account is 3-4 HR24s we use for tailgating. But man those things are sluggish as all get out and I just hate using them. We just purchased a lake home for weekends and summer and I have no desire to use HR24s up there. Bringing equipment back and forth is not an option. Streaming is not an option for any location (Rural Oklahoma, however electric coop is starting a fiber buildout that will be done in a couple years, after that streaming may become an option). If I want another genie setup, is my only option truly 3 accounts? 3 accounts which will Never be watched at the same time?

Your going to have to keep the account with the Genie and Genie Mini’s and add HR24’s at the other 2 locations to keep everything on the same account.

Technically it’s account stacking having boxes from 1 account in 3 locations, however it’s really not if your only in 1 place at a time.

I would at the very least consolidate the RV account with one of your other 2 accounts.

The only issue on the HR24’s is Directv is going to want to make an appointment to come and install them for $199 each. It’s near impossible to buy one on eBay for example and activate it on your own if your account is an AT&T Account.

Unless something has changed you're going to have to have three accounts to have three Genies. Why they still won't allow more than one in today's world I don't understand though. Living with 5 tuners on the HR54 is tough sometimes with all my wife's recordings!

I hear ya, I love the HS17, it was a bumpy start but just rock solid the past year or so. It’s really maddening DTV doesn’t allow multiple genies. I understand the technical challenges if they’re both on the same network, but I feel for a secondary home that would never be utilized while our primary home is active it just makes sense they would allow it. But when do they do anything that makes sense....

I don’t get the reasoning either.
