NFL 2021

Well, you got your wish ... Brian Hoyer has been released.
How do you feel about going into the season with Stidham as your only other QB on the roster (subject to change of course)

Stidham is on the PUP list through at least Week 6.

David Patten was killed in a motorcycle accident.

He played in Cleveland in the early ugly years so I was familiar with him when he went to New England to help support an adequate team helmed by Bledsoe.

No one saw what was coming, no one! Patten wasn’t a HoF’er but he was again one of those over performers that made New England what they were those first four years.

Why in the heck are the Browns almost ALWAYS on the same time as the Patriots?

Which then leads to my prediction of the Season, "Cleveland Browns suffer major setback as Odell Beckham Jr injures *insert body part* and is expected to be out for the rest of the season." Browns finish 8-8, and City of Cleveland possibly burns down stadium. I think people are looking for too much with the Browns. They have a good QB, an awesome RB, decent receivers. The trouble is, winning is hard and I'm not sold on the head coach. I'll be glad to be wrong, but I see Beckham Jr getting hurt and his production will be very low this year.

If he wins the Super Bowl MVP, I will be quite happy (assuming he wasn't traded).

Patriots, who the heck knows. Belichick is awesome. The kicker seems very good. All that is left to win a Super Bowl is an offensive line, defensive line, strong running game, great secondary, and a QB. So we are 34 percent there.

I think the Pats have thier QB for quite awhile .... If the O Line doesn't ruin him.
The Pats were in the catbird seat in the draft it turns out ... if they didn't get Justin Fields they would get Mac Jones.
Its amazing that those two fell as far as they did.

As for the Browns, they have a Great RB position, a very good O Line, an avg QB, trying to get better.
They should be able to end higher than the aging Steelers, but we'll see.
Baltimore probably will win the division, it's a shame they lost J.K. Dobbins, he was rounding into a Top RB for them.

Fwiw, J. Fields will sit in Chicago because the Bears are too inept to know how to mold a QB, they say he can't play this year, because Mahomes looked much better after not playing the whole rookie season ... interesting, Herbert looks damn good in San Diego.
Then again, da Bears don't have an O Line.

I think Fields will be the starting QB after 4 games unless A. Dalton does good in the first couple of games.

Why are the Browns on at the same time as the Pats normally ?

Normally thats NOT the case ... The Pats have notoriously been a 4 pm game, while the Browns are normally a 1 pm game.

I haven't looked at This year yet.

Why do you suppose the Pats have been the late game most weeks (4pm) ... because they are good.

edit:
Browns This year have 4, 4pm games and a Sunday night game, because they did better last year. (they also have a few late 8 pm games, so the networks expect them to do well this year .)

Pats have only 3 4pm games and 3 late 8 pm games as well.

Are they? Being a Patriots fan in NE Ohio, I've noticed a tremendous amount of overlap between the two in schedules.

Looking at the schedules the last four seasons, they've been on at the same time 22 times out of 64 total games. When both are playing afternoon Sunday games, they were on different times 13 times. So when playing on afternoons more times than not, they are playing the same time.

Poor deluded fools. :D

I may just be misremembering overlap on 4:00/4:20/4:25/4:28 games. Stats don't seem to show that.

I looked at the 4 pm times for both, i did not compare who was playing when date wise.

Jones didn't play like a rookie yesterday in the Patriots loss to the Dolphins. And I'm not talking stats. Of what I saw on Red Zone, he was making really good throws, great placement. The running game did well too... for a team that scored only 16 points! Of course, it was the Patriots' running game fumbles that cost the Pats the game. Defense got a critical pick and held the winning Dolphins to 17 points.

Overall, pretty good start for a loss, in my opinion. I didn't have huge expectations this year. We'll see how Mac Jones handles an ever adapting NFL defense scheme in the next few games.

Cleveland loses to Kansas CIty, but played pretty well. Kansas City is the NFL's Golden State Warriors. They'll drown you in points over a period of 5 minutes. You are never safe, unless winning by 5 touchdowns with a quarter to go. They just click in moments that turn into huge plays. Losing to the Chiefs is hardly a shame. The Browns have to continue playing well on both sides of the ball against teams that have a lesser ability to make points appear on the board out of thin air.

Baker Mayfield has to hate losing to Mahomes. Mahomes is why he transferred from Texas Tech to Oklahoma as a walk-on. But if Cleveland had Travis Kelce, I think the Browns would be the better team.

The most polarizing play from that game:

Browns fans:
- Chiefs coach should have been ejected, not Harrison
- He wasn't stepping on the guy he was shoved

Everyone else:
- Why did he try and walk through 2-3 people, creating the entire situation?

I think Harrison was either trying to get into the face of 52, or step on Edwards-Helaire. Neither are smart decisions, followed by his worst and final decision of the day which was retaliating on the coach who pushed him off the player he was stepping on.

Think Harrison may see a fine, but little else will come of any of this.

For Jimbo lol.

Players should never touch coaches. Opposing coaches should never shove players. Both should have been ejected, though I don't know the actual rules for coaches.

I don't know if this has been posted already and if it has I apologize. Paramount Plus is carrying all (so they say) of the CBS NFL games in both tiers of their streaming service. Some articles say it's regionally blocked while others indicate otherwise. Dunno. Anybody here subscribe to P+?

But ... is this in your Local market only ?
I'm thinking, you can't go into the setting (or wherever) and change your market.
I can't do that to watch CBS in Pittsburgh while being in Detroit for example.

Paramount + has a network feed of the CBS station in your area. I haven't seen anything otherwise.
