How many remotes do you use?

How about doing it just using ine? That’s what they are going for.
I use one remote. It turns my TV on, browses to all of the installed apps on my TV to which I don’t need a Roku or a fire stick for because it’s the android OS, controls the volume on my surroundsound and when I wanna go to live TV it can change to live TV just by hitting the Guide button which brings up the program guide for all of my OTA channels.

I would say that The future of streaming is going to be more like what I experience, and move away from additional devices like a Roku box. Especially when more TVs are using the Roku OS, and the fire OS and android OS as their operating systems which means in those cases one remote will do everything you need to do.

There is no doubt that this is the model been Dish is going after by providing a device that does everything in one, and looking at the bigger picture, that includes your Internet provider and your wireless telephone provider.

As far as the cost of the phones, I understand that most people wanna save money but most phones that our flagship level devices are in that price range if not more. My Pixel 6 Pro was $899. I’m pretty sure iPhones run higher than that and have run higher than that for a long time

Some do, some don't. My iPhone SE 2nd Gen cost me $200. The newest SE is $400. The iPhone 13 is $800, the 13 Mini is $700. If you're into phablets, the Pro is $1,000 and the Pro Max is $1,100.

Have the 4k Joey... Hoping they add the multi screen feature or at least Pip (I know when the 4k joey first came out they talked about it but decided to not add it)... Any news on this ???

Thanks in advance

I was told the new Joey would have PIP.
I use Multi-View all the time and will swap out my equipment just for that feature.
The H318 Software has me upset...Multi-View doesn't work properly!!!

The 4K Joey (not to be confused with the Joey 4) will never have PIP.

Is the Summit over?

No… but yes.

All the executives have left.

The expo floor is open and after breakfast I will be going around doing something I did not do yesterday. And that is take pictures. I didn’t take any pictures but took video.

I went out and walked the stop by myself last night. Boy has Vegas changed over the last three years.

Homeless people everywhere and lots of people begging for money and they had people casing people as they walked by actually following some people.

I went back to my hotel and went to bed at 6:30 pm Vegas time and work up this morning at 6:30 am Vegas time.

Guess I was tired but I really didn’t sleep more than 5 hours in the two days I was here before that.

Team summit officially closes at 3pm today.

But what's the difference between the 4k Joey and the Joey 4 ???
I'll take a swing at that one. The J4 is the latest/greatest Joey and is reputedly faster than the old 4K Joey. The J4 also has HDR (but not Dolby Vision). The 4K Joey supposedly does not have the chipset for HDR.

Does the new 4J & 4J wireless have built-in Bluetooth?

Its just not Vegas, all of Arizona is a mess and home prices through the roof!

Thanks for that Scott... I might have missed it... But what's the difference between the 4k Joey and the Joey 4 ??? If pip or multi screen is available on the 4 I will def switch

Appreciate all the work you do !!!
The Joey 4 is a new box which also adds Android TV functionality into the mix. All the new boxes are also 4K with HDR.

If you have a Hopper 2 you an now make that Hopper 2 a 4K receiver by adding a Hopper Plus. :)

I am old enough to remember when the original 4k Joey was released with the promise of PIP.

It is funny how things in the electronics industry get released and sold with the promise of features being added in the future, then they never materialize. (Sony has been really into this game lately.)

They would not talk about additional test markets, other than they will make the 20% that the government is making them have by then.
We see why the did Vegas first, but how many big cities would it take to cover 20% of the population of around 230 million. New York and LA and a few more.

No kidding. My first Android phone, a 1st gen Samsung Behold 2, was promised with a free OTA upgrade to Android 2.0. After Samsung bricked a few phones, they took that down and never did upgrade Android. :cryingToo bad; it was a good phone in its day.
