NFL 2022

Who would want to buy a newspaper? I mean, besides the idle rich as noted above, who would actually want to buy a newspaper as a serious effort to make money?

As to the football team, they want a new owner so they can play Maryland, Virginia, and a combination of the federal government and DC, off against one another to see whose taxpayers will foot the bill for yet another football palace which will be used maybe 12 days a year. Since I only pay taxes to one of the four entities listed above, I'm rooting for Virginia or Maryland.

I feel like offensive line play has been a problem on a lot of teams this year. The other thing with the Bills that I noticed- it seems like when Von Miller went down they went from a great team to a very good team. I honestly don’t know if there is a direct correlation there, but that’s what it seemed to me from afar. One thing I know for sure is your QB is great and in today’s NFL that means a LOT. The Bills will be a force as long as Josh Allen stays upright.
I think one of the problems with that is we are in a period of great quarterback play again. Much like the late 80s with Dan Marino and John Elway and those guys not that there haven’t been some really good quarterbacks I mean we just came through Tom Brady and Drew Brees and Peyton Manning but right now this group of very young quarterbacks are playing at a very high-level, and these teams are trying to give them high-level targets and ignoring the fundamentals, the line

I'm not certain selling the Washington Post provides the change for buying an NFL football franchise.

He didn't buy the paper to make money but to stabilize the paper. Until they can find a way to sell newspapers in plastic bottles or add lots of caffeine and needless B complex vitamin overloads, making money selling papers seems to be an extinct profession.

I don’t understand all the hate either. They all sound the same to me, really. Whether it’s Tony Romo, or Joe Buck and Troy Aikman or whoever, they all sound the same but there’s no way I can ever watch a game with the sound off, I have to have the announcers just calling the plays, but analyzing the game and updating people on everything that’s happening with the game.

When I first moved in Illinois, and before there was streaming at all the things that I’ve done to watch Bills games over the last few years, it was a fire I would go to that, had the NFL ticket and had all the games on but they would play the Chicago game over the house speakers, and all the other TVs. It would be turned down and it drove me crazy.
I need sound of the game. I'm so old, sports with only sound from the AM Radio is what I started with. yep Boxing even. pictures in the mind only. same reading the box scores in the paper imagining how Jerry West put up 40 points etc

But some people talk too much or just their inflated self worth shines thru.

That's how I listened to Hockey when I was a kid, laying in bed listening to games in Canada on an AM radio. Those were the best nights!

Looks like more Aaron Rodgers Drama coming ....
Will he or Won't he Play next year ....
Oh, I may play, or maybe not.
Could be for the Packers, or maybe another team ... of my choosing of course.

He's actually went Brett Favre and upped his drama.

What a DIVA ...

He's playing ...........59 million reasons Why

Brock Purdy is rightly a Hot subject on the talk shows, but what's not being talked about enough is Kyle Shanahan. his ability to get maximum QB play out of healthy bodies the past decade unsurpassed.
Then theres the Rest of the ELITE 49'ers team .... which without, No QB would be doing much ...
Purdy is pretty much playing on an All Star Team.

Thats no knock on Purdy, I like him ... hes Not a Top notch Stud QB (at least not yet) or he wouldn't have gone last in the draft.

I did keep track of him thru College when I could.

Of course, it's a team sport. The better the team performs, the better the individual looks. There have been very few quarterbacks in this passing dominated age which have excelled when under constant pressure. Fran Tarkington may have been the first, Patrick Mahomes the most recent. Most require a decent offensive line and good receivers. Purdy has that.

However, Purdy sure deserves credit for how he's performed as an inexperienced newcomer. There are plenty of well seasoned veterans who have good teams around them and don't get it done.

To me, the question is, will it continue or is it a fluke.

Lets say this is his last game this season, if the 2022 draft could be redone he would go in the first round. knowing what is known now.
Who was the last rookie QB to have this kinda start ?

A fluke last this long ? I think he's got the right job.

Besides my post was highlighting Kyle Shanahan.... lol
Cool how other players other than the QB play so well when he's about.

When the QB position is filled the team comes thru the tunnel on Sundays thinking they will Win. That's more than half the battle ask any player.

Doug Williams, Nick Foles? It doesn't have to be a fluke. Surviving the NFL as a QB requires being able to adapt to the defenses as they learn how to adapt to the QB.

Will it continue or is it a Fluke is quiet a HARSH statement ... seeing like you said, and I said, its a Team game .

I was surprised that he didn't go in the 3rd or 4th round.

I'm gonna sit back and enjoy this weekends games ...
They should all be good ones.

Boston Herald reports lots of friction for Patriots coaching staff during the season. Yes, it is the Boston Herald, so a little bit of salt, but based on what we saw this year, it did seem like the play calling and prep for the offense wasn't what it should have been. It seemed that those put in charge weren't exactly pedigree level for that side of the ball.

Mac Jones struggled for yardage seeing he passed the ball to someone behind the line of scrimmage on roughly 112% of all passing plays. When Jones was allowed to throw downfield later in the season, he seemed to be capable of being a viable QB for an NFL team. Belichick seemed to err when it came to the offensive side of the ball this past season, with regards to coaching selections. Which is odd, because he hasn't done too poorly before.

Hopefully things improve a bit for next season. Pats don't have to win the Super Bowl, but I'd rather have a QB throwing the ball for yardage, and not for completions.
