Google Scores NFL Sunday Ticket Package

Yes, most have Internet for other things as well ....
However, its not Necessary to have it with D* ...
No, but it is necessary for just about all other parts of life, hence why it should be removed from any part of streaming.
You tout daily how great all the streaming is, and for the most part it is, it has given people another option for TV ... thats all it is, is another option.
Another option in much better quality, visual, sound and content.
I like my Sat delivered service fine and I like you can afford either option.
While I can afford it, I have figured out a way to get most of it at no cost.

If I did not have my Gift Card option, there is no way I would have so many services.
You like to point out that its so much cheaper, and at the moment, it may be, but it is quickly catching up with Sat and Cable price wise.
The only way for streaming to catch up is if Cable/Satellite had a price freeze for about 10 years.

again-
YTTV -$73 a month
DirecTV-$120 a month
You can afford all this stuff as well, so a few dollars more for what you want is what you go for ...

Your not broke barely getting by either.
I have no idea why myself being well off has anything to do with anything.

I will remind you, I grew up extremely poor, one of the main reasons I have money is I saved and invested, anyone could of did that.

These are the Same Apps that you and others would NEVER use ?
You guys always say Never use the TV's Apps.
Never posted that, I wrote they go bad after a few years, but I do consider the Roku a better device.
I think you guys have stock in aftermarket App devices.
I do have stock in Roku, but also Google and Amazon, has nothing to do with what I prefer to stream with.

Juan, ncted is correct ...
He said Most, which is correct, most people don't need more than 2 streams.

Gamblers can have thier own package ... Make it Gamblers Zone +, make even More money.
Fantasy players have thier own channel, why not Gamblers ....

I don't waste My money on them, but I'm sure there are those out there.

Fwiw, how many streams can you watch at one time in a NORMAL home ....
I don't know ANYONE that has 2 or more TV's in the same room, sitting next to one another ....
I agree with the home user..but if cut out the gambler..thats a big chunk of revenue..sports is a huge gambling operation since they legalized it in alotbof states..multimillion revenue..directv had a special redzone channel in ST aimed at gamblers then they had the slower one they sold to dish and cable companies..totally different hosts and channels..

And what price did YTTV Start out at ?
Was it $30-$40 ????
Now its up to $73 and Not stopping.

So, its More than doubles in its short time in existence.
In 2 years it will be over $100 ....

Thats More than Cable and approaching D* ...

You keep quoting D* at $140 for some reason.
Thats what I pay for the Ultimate package which is Hardly the cheapest.

Just so you know, I was never in a wealthy family either .... we probably were on the bottom side of Avg ...
Nothing was handed to me either.

I retired after 30 years at one company working in the elements every day (those of you that have done that, know what I'm talking about)
I had various jobs Opening Stores when I was younger.

Started in 2017 at $34.99, so roughly a $6.33 a year increase since then.

About the same as Cable/Satellite increases every year.
So, its More than doubles in its short time in existence.
And how much has DirecTV exceeded their original price point?
In 2 years it will be over $100 ....
Doubtful , at a, roughly, $6 increase every year, it will take 5 years to reach that goal.
Thats More than Cable and approaching D* ...
Of today yes, in the 5 years it would take YTTV to reach $100, how much will cable/satellite prices be?

I wrote $120, from many websites, $130-140 is considered to be the average DirecTV bill, I made it less to be fair, thought it was high.

The gamblers who buy ST need more than 2 streams...thats why they invented the redzone channel..your casual nfl fan won't buy that premium package for $500..most only want 1 team..instead of adding bells and whistles..google could add a fee for each additional stream
Are you a gambler? If so, you might want to consider something other than YTTV or D* for up to date info. The lag is significant on both compared to terrestrial broadcasts. I'm not sure they even really watch the games anymore. My friends at work that do sports betting seem to have a number of apps they use on iPads to keep up with all the games they are betting on. I'm not sure how it all works as I've never found it to be an enjoyable pastime, but it seems almost like high frequency trading on Wall St: the lower the latency, the better.

Its a missed markeing oppurtunity for Google..right now they are gonna get fewer subs than directv..sunday ticket is not a mass market product..too expensive...it only appeals to those who need or can afford it

I have added to the list-

Since the pricing was announced we have-
Google’s servers will fail because they will not handle the streaming traffic with Sunday Ticket.

It (ST) will not get as many new subscribers since it is not available on DirecTV.

It is no longer free.

The price will go up next year.

The preorder price goes away in two months.

You have to pay for the internet.

Only two streams which means I will not be able to password share with my friends/family.

The picture/sound will not be as nice.

Google is making me think about switching to YTTV and dropping DirecTV to save at least $500 an year and I don’t like it.
( seen that on on Reddit).

Wahhh…things are changing and I hate it.

Gamblers will not be happy..

Alphabet’s stock prices will be affected.

Google cannot make money on Sunday Ticket.

YTTV prices will go up at a faster pace then Cable/Satellite Providers.

Betting during games and so-called microbetting are some of the fastest growing markets in sports betting. However, sportsbooks get near-live information fed to them from league partners, keeping their lines and odds ahead of anyone who isn’t also catching the information live.
So should anyone associated with legalized gambling be mad at DirecTV then for not bidding on the Commercial Rights, that is the one that would affect Casinos, not the Google deal.

Right. YTTV's lag is even worse than D*'s was, so it really isn't a big draw for serious gamblers anyway. When I had D*, the lag between Spectrum cable and D* was almost 30 seconds, so YTTV 's is almost twice as much which seems to match my experience with it. Maybe Alphabet doesn't understand what they are missing out on, but I'd bet they at least think they do and don't care.

Sunday Ticket was the only game in town for NFL gamblers...there is no alternative to watch every game..serious gamblers had no alternative... if someone needs every game from their favorite out of market NFL team is not a huge pool of customers for google to get customers from...just not that much interest or market..I wish them luck

That's the point I was attempting to make. They (serious gamblers) apparently don't even watch the games anymore. That's so 1994. Times have changed. I don't know how big a percentage of ST subs are serious gamblers, but it looks like YT thinks that is not their market.

They have to..unless you have people in every market to watch the games..sports gambling is a past time much like poker..to me its too much work to figure out who gets hurt etc but its a nice market for sunday ticket..maybe google can make a gamblers package...the one team fan market isn't going to cut it

They have to..
Why? The stats and play updates are coming into the apps faster than they can be transmitted from the stadium to the network to the uplink center to the satellite to the customer or however YTTV does it, which is even slower. Since it never has to bounce off one or more satellites or be encoded and decoded one or more times, it is much faster.

They need to see the games to beat the apps...by the time the app is updated..its too late...no they are not instantly updated...thats why directv created the redzone channel...the NFL version is atleast a minute behind
