Do people still watch satellite TV these days

You didn't read my post I guess. The Firestick "Live" feature brings the listings for multiple apps into one listing, similar to cable and satellite.
I've never heard of Firestick Live .... then again, I don't use Firestick ...

So basically, they are building a TV around Firestick, same as what Roku did awhile back.

FireTV's and FireTVsticks have been around since 2014. "Live" is a menu item on the FireTV series home page. It's one of the reasons I prefer FireTVsticks over Roku.

To be honest DTV really never made profit!!!
Directv was quite profitable when AT&T owned them. The profits drying up were more about the macro environment and not about anything AT&T could have done. Look, it's cool that you hate AT&T, but you should couch your facts in reality, not because you hate AT&T for one reason or another.

The Live TV thing has been a feature on FireTV devices for quite some time. I want to say at least 6-7 years. it is a tab on the home screen that aggregates all the live streams across all the apps you have installed - Xumo, Pluto, Tubi, Amazon channels and I think Plex, along with a few others I can't remember.

It's actually a great feature and you can favorite the channels you like. The issue for me was a lot of duplication as many FAST channels are generally available on every FAST service, so while there's 250 channels showing up on the Live TV screen, there's probably 100 unique ones. Favorites solve this, but I wished the app was smarter and would collapse duplicates.

I wonder what the percentage is for the number of customers that have to interact with DTV CS. With Dish, the only time I contacted them after my initial equipment activations were chat sessions to change my locals before the app had that feature.

DTV has been profitable for many years now, still is, has about 2-3 years till it hits the unprofitable stage, unless things turn around as the company transitions into a internet provider.

They really need to market their inexpensive genre packs a lot better.

It would be interesting to see how many people do deal with dtv's csr's!!! everytime they told me me they had to transfer me to tech support that was an oh sh*t moment!!!! they could wreck someone's worst nightmare. we called dish 3 times so far one because i snapped the remote antenna to the hopper installing it. they don't have that part for some odd reason!!! rep spoke fluid english and knew what i was talking about!!! same when we had to order a replacement remote he just asked what was wrong with it and the model number and another time to relocate... all of our issues were resolved in a timely manner!!! our dtv acct had a glitch in it they said they would fix well no one ever fixed it!!!
