Confucius say: "Man who go through turnstyle backwards, going to Bangkok"...Out my window, I see the following view shown in attached image.
1) How many satellite dishes can you count?
2) Based on the angle of prime focus and offset dishes, where am I?
Winning answer gets nothing but bragging rights.

I have a nephew that lives there. I'm bleary eyed right now due to a bad respiratory infection. I stupidly didn't wear a mask when I last did leaves two weeks ago, and it got me bad. Black lung. I can't count the dishes. I'm on a steroid and a Z-packI think you used Google images! You're too precise.
But no count of dishes offered.

I was going to say somewhere in the late 80s
Looks like satellite heavenInside knowledge! Permitted. If the diseases don't get you, the leaves will. Feet up; enjoy the satellites. Can't believe the number of 4', 6', 10' C-band dishes here, even for apartments.
C-band dishes at properties and on top of buildings are the norm. Though most are likely 8-feet or less.Looks like satellite heaven
Not always FTA though. While there are a lot of FTA channels in Europe, the majority of the Satellite broadcasts are encrypted and require either a subscription, or an other form of access control (for example, a decoder that is only available to residents of a specific country). The big technical difference with US pay satellite TV is that they all use standard DVB-S(2), linear pol, and the full 10700 to 12750 frequency range. Many receivers are already loaded with the country-specific decoders. Then there's another aspect... Just like in the US where for years the availability of Latin-American programming was much more prominent on Dish than of typical cable, boosting the presence of Dish Network in communities with large immigrant communities, those forests of satellite dishes in Europe are/were also often the best way to get TV from Africa and the Middle EastFTA is also very common in Europe.

Here in my condo room in SE Asia, the TV dial has many channels including CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, DW, etc. I think they are from a subscribed package of the room owner. In particular, I can see RT (Russia Today) in English like we used to get in North America on 97W Galaxy 19. This channel is available all over the word but not in North America anymore. This is too bad since watching what an outlet has to say, even if delusional and outright lies, is educational so you can try to understand their POV.Not always FTA though...
