SatelliteGuys Makes The Court Case

But I thought NPS was an independent company? If they cannot serve a "new" customer because this new customer is not a Dish Network customer, then there is definitely co-operation to co-opt the injunction, which is a no-no.

They can serve anyone apparently. The lady I spoke to today asked me who I had service through when I called.

Just for kicks, posted at another forum...First come the strings, then come the woodwinds, and then the brass followed by the percussion.

"in active concert".

This might be the same orchestra. The same instruments. The same players...

BUT.....a different symphony then the one impugned by the courts.

NPS offers a stay of execution that will hopefully allow enough time for the Senate to pass what is just.

No court will be able to strike this down on previous merit.

Greg why do you want this shut down so much? We know how you feel, but please give it a rest for a while. Apparently people involved with this case are reading these forums, so there's no need to bring up stuff like this.
So, apparently the first thing to go from these forums should be Charlie Chat Recaps? It was the document pulled from this site.

I'll take the big fricken bulls-eye on my back. But on another issue, is this simply a way to silence someone that many don't agree with, but who has been consistently correct on this entire issue.

I could care less one way or another. But if it smells bad and has four legs with two white stripes on its black body, it is a skunk. This smells bad.

And this action will do more damage to Echostar than anyone will imagine. How many people think that the Senate will now work on a bill to get distants back to Dish Network?

This is just a stupid, STUPID move.

I do.. i think a Democratic congress will be more willing to screw over Murdoch than a Republican one

Let's be real Greg, the way the Senate bill is written, it's not going to help most people that lost their distants. This NPS arrangement is a far better deal for most people.

Hint to everyone: go find something better to do that speculate about what I do for a living. I am not involved in the multichannel industry nor the broadcast industry nor the advertising industry.

But, funny thing about speculation. At least when I do it, it normally pans out to be the correct answer. Unfortunately.

Just trying to keep the satelliteguys informed!

"...This is just a stupid, STUPID move...."

Let's see. In this corner, we have someone who is reputed to be a DirecTV installer. In the other corner, we have a (former?) professional poker player, who started his own business from the back of a pickup truck, who has built one of the largest and possibly best satellite television to home businesses in the world, and who is a billionaire, yes Billionaire, thru his own efforts.

Place your bets, folks. Guess the odds yourself.

You have stated your position innumerable times, everyone gets it, many just don't agree with you. Please give it a rest. Why not spend some time with your wife so she can bask in the light of your infinite wisdom? ... ;)

E* is prohibited from providing DNS to anyone. However, E* subscribers are not prohibited from receiving DNS from a third-party. The networks and NAB's sole objection to this arrangement is the use of E* equipment and facilities - transponders, uplink, etc. Seems to me that the judge would have to expand the injunction to prohibit the use of any E* equipment for DNS including receivers. I don't think the judge has the authority to deny reception of DNS to qualified subscribers solely because they use E* receivers. E* may have lost the legal authority to transmit DNS to subscribers but E* subscribers' legal right to receive DNS, if they are qualified to, has not been taken away, yet.

I am the counselor that all of you will lean on when your distant network addiction ends. :)

The first step on the road to recovery is to admit you have a problem. Because all non-believers will be in shock and awe once this is complete.

If this is such a slam dunk for the NAB, why haven't we heard about a new and improved injunction and Charlie & Co going to jail for contempt?

Scott - since the lawyers are obiously reading SatelliteGuys to get their information - we should have some fun with them.

Lawyer jokes perhaps? Maybe a little taunting?

SF vs Sacramento Locals?

Does E* offer CW HD?
