I'm thinking of getting a invacom qph-031 to add to my motorized dish. What would be the the best way to hook this to multiple recivers. Should the motor be on its own line to my main reciever?

There is a number of ways to share the QPH-031 with multiple receives.

Each receiver connects to the Multiswitch (4X4 or 4X8) and the one receiver which will control the motor, first goes to the motor, then the multiswitch.

For a 4x8 can I have it

Sat A 13V --> motor --> linear
Sat A 17V --> linear
Sat B 13V/22khz --> circular
Sat B 13V/22khz --> circular

So that when I change a linear satellite it will move. I would have to make a dummy channel by switching the line from linear to circular. So if I wanted a circular satellite I go to the dummy channel which can't be received because its back to the linear output, but it moved the dish and then change the channel to one from that satellite.

you have it set up wrong in the picture. the motor would go between the receiver and the multiswitch

4 cables into the 4x4 multiswitch
cable from the output of multiswitch to motor
cable from motor to receiver

ird -> motor -> switch
switch port 1 -> multiswitch -> both linear outputs
switch port 2 -> multiswitch -> both circular outputs

I have four ird's all acessing my motor ;)

the fortec drives the motor, the rest just tune what is avalible to them.

One 4X8 multiswitch

Receiver 1 -> Motor -> Multiswitch ->13v/22KHZ Linear
->18v/22KHZ Linear
->13v Circular
->18V Circular
Receiver 2--------------> Multiswitch
Receiver 3--------------> Multiswitch
Receiver 4--------------> Multiswitch
Receiver 5--------------> Multiswitch
Receiver 6--------------> Multiswitch
Receiver 7--------------> Multiswitch
Receiver 8--------------> Multiswitch

You can install diseqc switches between receivers and multiswitches to expanded.

Many people use DiSEqC switches with the QPH, but I prefer the 4 x 4 (or 4 x 8) multiswitch. Most 4 x 8 switches require additional external power.
