Well I just have to vent...went to the pittsburgh steelers vs new orleans saints game yesterday (feels good to be in football season :) ) Game starts everyones on their feet we are waving our terible towels have a great time. Well First play of the game after the kickoff a bunch of us are still on our feet, and three guys behind us started yelling at us saying down in front, sit down so we can watch the game too...wait its the first play of the season get on your feet....I dont understand if your going to go to a football game, get on your feet and cheer for a couple plays have fun. Granted they were wearing Browns gear and probably dont know how to cheer, butman lighten up a little.

Consider yourself lucky, you didn't have to hear a looooooong interview with Michael Irvin and hear about his crying:river, instead of showing the game on full screen.

Plus Cris Collinsworth has to be one of the worse announcers ever:mad:, what do you expect, he was a Bungle.:D

Whatever, you don't like him because his is a Bengal. He isn't bad at all. He isn't one of the greats for sure, but he is better than most.

No, the Bungle crack was humor, even if he was a Steeler, I would say he was terrible announcer, never liked him as an announcer. Hated him as a Bungle because he always did good against the Steelers.

Its Gumble that drives me nuts. I see the HD picture and keep thinking I can reach into the screen and strangle him. Am I losing my mind?? Wait, its just that voice, that voice..... Arrrrrrr.

Collinsworth doesnt bother me that much. The problem is the format and Gumble. Its just constant rambling. On and on and on and on. I hated the Sunday night format and Theisman on ESPN too. I just do the next best thing, kick my HR20 to music or mute the thing and listen to something else. I just wanna watch football not hear about who Theisman had lunch with the other day or diarrhea of the mouth on NFL Network.

we are in the ESPN age boys, its all about the announcers now, not the game....watch anything on ESPN, including the home run derby and every 5 minutes they have someone breaking something down, or just talking, its VERY annoying! glad I got to go last night, even if it was pouring rain down

There was talk about multiple options and interactivity on channels in the past. Screen angles and audio options were mentioned. Where are these features that was the buzz at CES and other events in the past? I want the option to turn announcers off and do "Sites and Sounds" like HDNet played around with years ago. Why are Directv and others spending interactive time on slow loading games when this could be a real simple option to implement? Heck they can do Spanish why cant we do just game sounds?

The Networks probably pay a ton of money to get their announcers on and be heard. They would most likely boycott anything that would get their announcers off the show.

I don't mind Collinsworth as much as Gumbel, but they should NOT be together.
I listened and watched the game while also being online and found thatthe announcer were just .... there rambling, the atmosphere is not there with them, something is not clicking .

I understand your frustration. I am a season ticket holder for the Bengals/Bungles and I "sit' in a section that is on its feet for 95% of the games. But I had to explain to a moro...er, another fan to look around himself once in a while, if he or his group are the only ones standing and the rest of the section is sitting down... SIT THE HELL DOWN!!!! :D You're blocking the view! :D

See ya
