ANIK F2 - Thy End Is Near

It will be interestiing to see what channels will be lost during the Nov 16-Nov 30 transition schedule. My comment earlier about still getting most channels fine on an 800 series meant with either an 800 or 830 receiver. As of today, that is still the case. Understandable that southern subs...

ANIK F2 - Thy End Is Near

Signal update in AZ this morning with an 830 pvr and a 60cm dish. Channel 252 is 96 with Ecbno of 7.5. - As strong as I have ever received.

ANIK F2 - Thy End Is Near

Getting lots on F2 with the 800 series receivers. 600 series are dead as far as I knowl Post #284 explains ways to Canuck TV down south. Of course you still have to be a paying customer of Shaw or Shaw Direct

ANIK F2 - Thy End Is Near

Is anyone down here in the "southern market" actually getting any channels anymore? As of this morning, everything I had now has a message on the guide saying new equipment required. I am assuming I would have to get it directly from Shaw which is a no-go and everything is slated to go away...

ANIK F2 - Thy End Is Near

Knowing that Ignite will not work in the U.S., why not just load your firestick with apps such as Global, CTV, CBC, SN etc along with a VPN app to watch all you Canadians shows? As a snowbird, this worked for me last winter.

Can anyone please report on the current F2 signal in the southern province of AZ? Thanks For comparison sake, my F2 signal on channel 257 this morning in the EDM area is 95

    Shaw Direct Signal in Az

I plan on taking my 830's down to AZ in October as a snowbird. No one seems sure at this time how long these channels on F2 will last and when that satellite will fall out of the sky so it could be day to day or month to month. My back up plan is to use my firestick loaded with apps such as...

ANIK F2 - Thy End Is Near

I have the Sportnet Now app on my firestick and upgraded to the Sportsnet Now premium package giving you all the NHL games including the option to select the French feed. (I am English but still prefer the RDS french version of the Habs). Next week, I plan on taking my firestick south for the...

    DIRECT TV EDMONTON

Ok, I'll try to summarize for all, LOL Thanks for the map, first time I had seen this. Edmonton is inside the red area so therefore is in need of the 1.2m AK/HI dish. Yes, you will get all the HD with this but signal reports on 99 and 103 are in the sixties and seventies, not high 80's. Not...

What Dish to use to give the best possible signal?

I have a DishTurboHD dish and a 1000.2 triple LNB. Would this work (signal wise) for Dishnetwork in the Edmonton (53 degrees N latitude) area? Which is the weakest satellite out of the 110, 119, and 129 sats? If one of these satellites is weaker, would it be best to add a second dish for...

Setting up Directv at Cabin in Manitoba

No problem with the Slimline dish at this location to get all your HD channels. The HD signal starts falling apart as you move north of 52N latitude. Here in Edmonton (53.3) we get about half of the subscribed HD channels on the Slimline. Starting to see a few more 1.2 meter Alaska/Hawaii dishes...

    DIRECTV reception in Edmonton, Alberta

I think the tilt is important. As per dishpointer.com the reccomended tilt for Edmonton is -9.1 so 90- - 9.1 would be 99.1 (remember at 90 the dish is straight up and down) so you have to move it 9 degrees. That is what I set my slimline to.

Anyone use a pair of 1.2m (Alaska/Hawaii) dishes

Thanks for the quick replies. Just to confirm, I should pick up a swm8 switch while I am here?- then 4 lines from lnb into switch and then single line into power inserter (still) or directly into the HR22? I will still be using the one receiver if that matters.
