Is it safe to buy from Ebay? Will D* give me a problem becasue of the "2nd hand" nature of the product?

I am not a Dish customer, but I do have an 811. How do I use it as an OTA only. When I hook everything up it states looking for sateliite. I go to my local setup menu and it pulls the stations, but I cannot find a way to view them. HELP!!

What brand and model does D* give you for the $99?

I may live to regret this, but I have just called D* and signed up for a Tuesday installation. After seeing Viacom scroll a ominous message on the bottom of some of my favorite channels and then seeing E* blacking the message out, I realize this is a pissing contest that we as Dish customers...

That is a good point. I live in a CBS owned city (Philly). Meaning, Viacom owns my CBS station. If they pull it due to E* and Viacom not coming to terms, is E* or Viacom legally in trouble for not allowing or not providing the local CBS with all the other local channels?

I actually have an 811 I don't even use. I have the dark picture issue as well. Anyone interested??

I know Dish monitorsthis site. I think they should know how we feel. I for one will leave Dish if I do not have CBS. Cable around here is terrible and OTA is not what I want to do. D is my only alternative. How do you feel?

I tried speaking to Dish about it. It seems that I am unable to communicate this problem to them. I was able to speak to a tech guy who just could not understand what I was trying to tell him. Any ideas? Is there a more techinical way of saying that my screen is rescanning?

Do you have the same problem with the second 811?

I have a 56" JVC with an 811 hooked up. I have all the problems mentioned in earlier threads with one addition. Every 17 to 20 seconds, I get a rescan on my TV. What I mean is that the screen jumps from top to bottom. This happens with any type of hookup including DVI. Is this a 811 issue...

I am using a DVI. I also tried the s-video and the wires they supplied. It seems thast the HD channels are brighter, but the SD channels are so dark you can only make out movements.
