I am not a Dish customer, but I do have an 811. How do I use it as an OTA only. When I hook everything up it states looking for sateliite. I go to my local setup menu and it pulls the stations, but I cannot find a way to view them. HELP!!

What brand and model does D* give you for the $99?

That is a good point. I live in a CBS owned city (Philly). Meaning, Viacom owns my CBS station. If they pull it due to E* and Viacom not coming to terms, is E* or Viacom legally in trouble for not allowing or not providing the local CBS with all the other local channels?

I know Dish monitorsthis site. I think they should know how we feel. I for one will leave Dish if I do not have CBS. Cable around here is terrible and OTA is not what I want to do. D is my only alternative. How do you feel?

I tried speaking to Dish about it. It seems that I am unable to communicate this problem to them. I was able to speak to a tech guy who just could not understand what I was trying to tell him. Any ideas? Is there a more techinical way of saying that my screen is rescanning?

I have a 56" JVC with an 811 hooked up. I have all the problems mentioned in earlier threads with one addition. Every 17 to 20 seconds, I get a rescan on my TV. What I mean is that the screen jumps from top to bottom. This happens with any type of hookup including DVI. Is this a 811 issue...

I am using a DVI. I also tried the s-video and the wires they supplied. It seems thast the HD channels are brighter, but the SD channels are so dark you can only make out movements.

I have an 811, but have uninstalled it. Dark picture was the biggest reason. I also was able to see a "rescanning" every 20 seconds on my television. I could live with the guide and 5.1 issues, but the dark picture and rescanning made me lose my mind. Does anyone know when these issues are...

I have already sent back both my 811 recievers. I will not be part of the "Beta" team for Dish. I will not put up with the darkness issue, I will not put up with jagged screen seen on large TV's, I will not put up with a inferior guide, I will not put up with two remotes that are not working...

Could you put on fox news and stare at the screen for me. It is most noticeable towards the top. It happens every 15 to 20 seconds. maybe I have a bad box?

They lost me After that 1 hour waste of time, I am gone. I encourage everyone to call Dish and tell them to cancel your account and call back when they get serious. How can they string us along like this. I rather have Voom right now than dish. Impeach Charlie!
