I downgraded to Dish Mexico after I got Hulu Plus. It includes that local channels in HD, a bunch of Spanish channels, and free Playboy with 1975 VHS quality video, all for only $20 per month.
I mistakenly assumed that having an HD DVR was all you needed to get HD channels, as long as those networks were included in the package. But I see that Encore HD disappeared after I downgraded.
I do have it on cable, but I want to record shows on my DVR so that I can watch them whenever, and I don't want an OTA antenna, and I don't want to pay the outrageous price my cable charges for their DVR.
I know that is my choice, just wishing.
Allow viewing of DVR content on remote devices like PCs and smartphones.
Including streaming content from Hulu, Netflix, etc. on DVRs (instead of Google TV). I know they are your competitors, but if I have to buy an extra box to get them, it is one less reason to keep Dish. Having everything...
I would love to have PBS in HD, verses USA, TBS, Discovery, etc. PBS is the ONLY decent channel for intelligent (vs. alien abduction and ghost hunting) HD documentaries.
I just subscribed to a Spanish package and I notice that the Dish Network programming guide lists channels 270 and 272 as HD (UNIHD and TFPHD), but as far as I can tell, they are not. They also don't appear under the HD listings on Dish Remote Access. Anyone know what is going on?
