Playing with my dish - C Band and KU Fun

Are you sure about 9 o'clock? Maybe that's the case for prime focus dish, but for me on offset dish only 12 or 6 o'clock produce acceptable results.

    1.2M Fortec dish and a 621-2 C/Ku LNBf - success?

That's a nice article, but I really was irked by comments "one day Vito decided to see what putting c-band lnb on 1.2 dish would do". I think credit should be given where credit is due. I think all the credit for recent mini bud experiments goes to Cascade. Sure it was done before, but this...

When the US catches on to FTA

My guess is that the US will never fully catch on to FTA. It is alot easier in Europe where you have alot more countries in a smaller area. It is kind of hard to have one or two commercial providers for all of Europe. Here with D* and E* it is alot easier. My guess is that FTA will stay...

    Twinhan 102g

Not to be judgmental, but IMO feeds (and pictures) should not be mentioned/posted in public forums at any time. Just my opinion though.

    Distance to Clear Obstacle

I have used this calculator for figuring out distance to clear the obstacle for a while now. It is european and in metric, but it serves the purpose. http://www.satlex.de/en/elobst_calc.html

Question about 120cm, and picking up ku/c

IT's possible, but keep in mind that with 1.2m dish, beamwidht on Ku is very narrow and it is alot harder to fine tune it than smaller dish. This makes it even more difficult to fine tune an lnb that is not mounted in the center where lnb should go.

Question about 120cm, and picking up ku/c

I'll echo what pmb1010 said. I am getting those two channels with 75% quality (the quality is jumping between 72-81%) on my Fortect Ultra.

    Bsc621-2 C/ku Lnbf

Yes. http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?p=312839&highlight=eits#post312839 EITS used to sell an offset c-band lnbf that came with a cone shaped (aka devo hat) scalar ring.

Does anybody ever ask what your dish(s) are for?

I had a Comcast installer stop by 3 weeks ago to fix something with my internet. He had to go in the back to look at the box. He saw my 1.2 dish with Fortec star writen on it. He asked me oooh I heared of that brand do you use it to get all the channels. I tell him NO, I pay Comcast $80/mo...

New C/Ku LNBF to be released

I got mine separately. Sadoun sells them. http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/LNBFS/LNBF-HOLDERS.htm It's #3 in the list.

New C/Ku LNBF to be released

INfo on cone scalar is dug in somewhere in the middle of 120cm mini bud thread. I had to order a whole lnbf (from eye in the sky) and cone scalar came with it.

New C/Ku LNBF to be released

I have the 65mm holder which fits the lnbf perfect. I lost the top part of the holder so I am using plastic ties :) I actually almost prefer it like that since it makes it easier to remove and adjust.

New C/Ku LNBF to be released

The scalar ring I have is not the one that came with the CKU lnbf. This is a cone shaped ring which is supposed to be better suited for offset dishes. I think you will need a scalar ring of some sort to get it work because without it it will not illuminate enough. It is performing good on...
