I realize that the Revue is just starting to ship from Dish but has anyone been able to eliminate the $4 monthly integration fee?

Or actually found out how long the commitment is for?

Thanks.

I'm just coming back to Dish after 3-4 years with Comcast and have been catching up on forum news.

There is no intergration with DIRECTV and COMCAST like there is with the DISH DVR's.

The intergration allows you to program your DVR from within GoogleTV, lets you see whats on your DVR and also lets you order DISH VOD via GoogleTV.

Personally I think its a waste of money and I can do all of that using my DISH remote anyways. Why pay $4 more a month for it?

Thanks Scott. When I was last on the forum, I think you had only 25,000 posts. :)

I understand what the integration does.

I would not want the integration but am asking if anyone has been able to eliminate the auto $4 monthly fee that comes when you first sign up to get the Revue.

I was worried about this aswell. I think im going to order it. I was also wondering if you can play media off your pc or external hard drive. Anybody try this. I was about to purchase a boxee box by d-link and decided to give this a 2nd look.

The media support on the GoogleTV box is very poor. It won't play most of my media.

The BOXEE Box does so much better in this regard.

I got rid of the fee by logging into my account on the website and unchecking the box. :)

I have been considering ordering the Google TV unit from dish. Mainly because of the way it integrates the internet accessibility with the dish....menu etc.

Would that/those features be lost if I added the Scott feature? hint hint feature=trick.

IF you uncheck the fee on your account , you will lose the ability to access your recordings on the google box using the queue feature. You can still access it by the dvr button on the google revue unit or your DISH remote control.

Ok, so I have a couple questions. I have 2 - 612's and a 722. From what I understand the integration features will only work with the 722. I would not use the Revue with the 722 but instead with one of the 612's. Will the Revue work with the 612 but not have the integration features? Also, if I am reading correctly, can I buy the Revue at the lower price from Dish and then cancel the integration feature online saving me $4 per month? Thanks.

YES, I think you can buy the revue unit from DISH and then cancel the $4.00 fee. I bought my revue unit separately from Best Buy and applied the fee and then took it back off when I saw it really wasn't worth the extra expense. But I'm sure someone else who has bought it from DISH can chime in and tell you for sure. If not maybe the DISH techs /csrs who reside here on the board can answer for sure.

Please correct me if i'm wrong but if $4 monthly integration fee is cancelled, when searching on logitech revue:

- it will NOT search content on DVR
- it will NOT search contect on programming guide

since you can control your dvr, do you have to click the dvr button on the logitech keyboard to control the dvr? what about the programming guide? will clicking the guide button on the keyboard show you the dish programming guide?

I really appreciate your help!

@Zach,

Can I use Revue bought from say Best Buy or amazon.com to watch recordings on my 722 DVR with Sling Adapter when I am on the road? Will I have to pay an integration fee?
