Just upgraded yesterday to AT120 as the rep said that was the lowest package that would provide the Olympics HD feed. The tech on the phone was told by his support people that AT200 is required...I sure wish Dish could communicate better to themselves and to their customers!

Today I called Tech Support, they're filing a ticket as they admitted the issue sounds like it's on their end, since my TV fully supports HRD (OLED65C7P)

OK I have discovered my issue...if I pass the Hopper straight to the LG, then it works. If I pass it through my Denon X4300, I get the error screen. All connections using Premium Certified HDMI cables from Monoprice. So for some reason the Denon is the issue. The Denon is fully 4k callable so it SHOULD be able to pass whatever it's given my the Hopper.

According to AVS forum you should be able to watch 4K HDR content on a non HDR TV. The HDR signal is just ignored but you still can receive the high resolution. It would be similar to watching a program with Dolby surround sound on a TV that only supports stereo.

I would check with Dish an your TV manufacturer to find out why your TV is showing up as not compatible. Are you using the correct HDMI input? Some TV’s only have one HDMI input that produces 4K. Hopefully, you will find a solution that works for you.

So you're successfully passing your Hopper 3 through your Denon 2300 and getting HDR? No matter what I do, the only way I'm getting HDR from Hopper 3 is running it directly to the LG. I have no issues with any other HDR (or even DV) signal passing through the Denon. Weird.

Perhaps the Denon was released before HDCP 2.2 became a real thing. I have a newish Onkyo receiver that has three 2.2 hdmi inputs and three that are standard hdmi.
