Can someone from Kentucky please tell me if Kentucky has a satellite tax or not? I thought that your state supreme court had ruled it illegal.

Blame the state who charges that tax. Considering they are no longer making as much from the Cable/Satellite Tax, because of Cord Cutting, they have to make up that revenue. Here in Florida, it is over 13%, roughly 7% to the state, 6% to the county.

I canceled Dish and had to return the DVR, they sent the box with label. I sent it back UPS. Now I get a bill for the return $15.00 and $0.90 sales tax. Is it legal to charge sales tax on return shipping? Bad enough I had to pay to return their equipment but sales tax or just another Dish scam?

I noticed about a $1.00 increase in my bill this month on the illegally collected sales tax in my state. Anyone else?

Yeah, I use TurboTax online which is only slightly less painful than doing everything by hand (most years). Of course, I am not even sure if you can do it by hand anymore. I thought I saw something about them doing away with paper submission.

There is one easy way to avoid Direct TV Hd football tax. Buy an antenna, put it on roof or in the attic and watch Football in HD. YOu will not get all the games but you will get enough to satisfy. The picture quality will be better and it is free.

When i received my bill this week, it had a state tax added to it. It is about 1.1% of the total bill. I have searched and been unable to find where the state has added this tax to be collected. Does anyone in ga. have any info about this? Thanks
