    I just had DTV installed today. Been a longtime DISH customer. The tech installed a HR44 said they didnt have any HR54s. Shoul I have refused the install? Is the HR44 decent?

    General reps or "ACE" as they are called internally are the last to know anything. When I worked in that group I found out quickly that we are just there for the customer to yell at before transferring them to someone that can really help.

    Your best bet is to call say you're going to cancel and ask to speak to someone in CRG. They will get you fixed up. The CRG has all the latest updates and news and much more pull.

    Directv reps use a system call agent answer center for things like this. Most of the memos are posted there but 99% of the reps don't even read the memos or news.

    This doesn't sound right to me. Sounds like the tech and his sup are afraid of heights to me. You could always call a local retailer and see if they will swap it out. You may have to pay for a service call though.

    As far as adding the pp and getting your upgrade depends how long it's been since your last free equipment offer. If it's only been a year you have a year to wait. You get a new upgrade every 2 years even without the pp. I would suggest calling in and asking for EBG and see what offers they...

    Or you could do the simple thing and order it online at directv.com and have it drop shipped. You have an HR34 so your under contract now and you won't get anything free from CRG you may get a free install but they will make you pay for one or the other. And FYI installs are only 49.95

    The genie mini C41W are in testing and have been rolled out in select markets. They connect to the genie HR44 wirelessly.
