Thanks all! Do these new units require additional wiring or do they use the existing cable single cable to each unit that exists now?

Hi all, I am considering upgrading from one 722, two 612's and an SD box to the new Hopper/Joey setup. I am looking at two Hoppers and two Joeys to replace the above units. Any thoughts? I am just concerned I am missing something important and my wife will wonder what the heck I was thinking...

Was talking with a dish agent (online chat) and asked whether the Hopper/Joey units had a 30 second skip. He said they had "a" skip but didn't know how long the skip was. Does anyone know?

Am I the only one that watches most shows in chronological order? The biggest pain with Dish DVR's for me is that we can't sort in reverse chronolocal order, with the oldest shows at the top of the list. Hitting the "9" button brings me to the bottom but having it sort automagically would be nicer.

As an aside, thanks to DirectDishNet for setting me up with an external antenna. Now I don't have to live with Dish Networks timetable (or, come to think of it, pay their local fee!) I'm just glad he didn't fall off my roof! :)

So, can these outdoor antennas be mounted to the dish or do they need a separate location? Can they be diplexed into the sat signal?

I think it's a 500. It gets 110, 119, and 129. I was never sure how that "move" worked and what the address requirements and/or verifications were. Although we're due to get our local HD's in a couple weeks (soon?), I'm open to all alternatives. ;)

Thanks. I tried that (7603) and it just remapped to the re-list at 18.00 in the schedule. I seem to recall a setting to set preference of HD over SD but I can't find it anymore on my 722. :confused: I think it was in the timer "Option" in the past.

I am trying to get my 722 to record the local FOX channel using the SD satellite feed rather than my HD Antennae feed. The option to choose SD, SD/HD, or HD only seems to have vanished as I have searched the menu and timer settings to no avail. Has the option to choose SD/HD disappeared or more...

That's my market too. I have been checking: DISH Network - TurboHD Local Channels - 1.888.825.2557 every few days hoping for some news. Not sure if there is something more appropriate but at least it seems to change every few weeks.

Just got a 1 year XM sub with my new Genesis. While I like much of the content, their sound quality is garbage on a 7.1 system. I hope they go under and someone resurrects them with a new business model based on near-HD quality audio.

I wasn't clear in stating my issue. The problem is that while I am watching a recorded show from weeks ago, the storm outside keeps interrupting it. The storm did not happen during the "taping" weeks ago, the storm is happening live while I am watching the "taped" show.

Is it possible to sort recordings based on date with the oldest recordings at top? We like to view them in FIFO order so we must always page down to the end before selecting the show. TIA edit: This is on a 722

Why does the 722 interrupt the viewing of a recorded show with a notice when the "live" tuner(s) lose satellite acquisition? Seems completely unnecessary to me. And why they can't just be "canceled" with a single button press is beyond me. TIA
