    Upgrade worth it?

Thanks all! Do these new units require additional wiring or do they use the existing cable single cable to each unit that exists now?

    Upgrade worth it?

Hi all, I am considering upgrading from one 722, two 612's and an SD box to the new Hopper/Joey setup. I am looking at two Hoppers and two Joeys to replace the above units. Any thoughts? I am just concerned I am missing something important and my wife will wonder what the heck I was thinking...

    30 second skip?

Was talking with a dish agent (online chat) and asked whether the Hopper/Joey units had a 30 second skip. He said they had "a" skip but didn't know how long the skip was. Does anyone know?

Let's petition DISH to change initial recording.

Am I the only one that watches most shows in chronological order? The biggest pain with Dish DVR's for me is that we can't sort in reverse chronolocal order, with the oldest shows at the top of the list. Hitting the "9" button brings me to the bottom but having it sort automagically would be nicer.

    Davenport, Iowa HD locals.

As an aside, thanks to DirectDishNet for setting me up with an external antenna. Now I don't have to live with Dish Networks timetable (or, come to think of it, pay their local fee!) I'm just glad he didn't fall off my roof! :)

Cool. I will PM you about an install.

    Evansville Paducah Davenport Delay?

So, can these outdoor antennas be mounted to the dish or do they need a separate location? Can they be diplexed into the sat signal?

    Thanks. Good info there.

I can't tape an SD show when HD is available

I think it's a 500. It gets 110, 119, and 129. I was never sure how that "move" worked and what the address requirements and/or verifications were. Although we're due to get our local HD's in a couple weeks (soon?), I'm open to all alternatives. ;)

I can't tape an SD show when HD is available

No... Both of the programs I want to record are HD locals available via OTA antenna only. My MSA does not have Local HD via satellite yet so I must use the antenna tuner. Since the 722 can only record 1 HD OTA signal at a time, I must choose which program to record in SD via the satellite. Once...

I can't tape an SD show when HD is available

lol. Found the problem. I had set as timer for V to record on 8.01 with priority 6 <-- shows as recording I had a timer for SYT to record on 18.01 with priority 7 <-- shows as not recording Then I set a third timer to record SYT on 7603 and no matter what priority I gave it, it would not...

I can't tape an SD show when HD is available

Thanks. I tried that (7603) and it just remapped to the re-list at 18.00 in the schedule. I seem to recall a setting to set preference of HD over SD but I can't find it anymore on my 722. I think it was in the timer "Option" in the past.

I can't tape an SD show when HD is available

I am trying to get my 722 to record the local FOX channel using the SD satellite feed rather than my HD Antennae feed. The option to choose SD, SD/HD, or HD only seems to have vanished as I have searched the menu and timer settings to no avail. Has the option to choose SD/HD disappeared or more...

    Davenport Iowa HD Locals?

In general, are the eastern arc signals as strong as the western ones for us in the QCA?

    Davenport Iowa HD Locals?

Craziness... Tried calling Galaxy1 (a local retailer) today and was told our HD's go live on October 17th. She said it's not too early to get the dish installed and they have been doing many of them already but she told me I would have to set it up through Dishnetwork.com and they would set up...

DPP44 & Diplexer for Cable TV

Thanks. I was hoping the OTA antennae input would accept the cable as an antennae input.

DPP44 & Diplexer for Cable TV

Need some advice... I currently have a DPP44 running 3 dual tuner DVR's (722,612,612) and one single tuner box. One of my 612's has an OTA antennae that isn't working very well. What I would like to do is send that 612 a cable signal (which comes into our home as well for Internet) for OTA...

    8/19/2009 12:29pm - Uplink Activity Report - 49 changes

That's my market too. I have been checking: DISH Network - TurboHD Local Channels - 1.888.825.2557 every few days hoping for some news. Not sure if there is something more appropriate but at least it seems to change every few weeks.

    Sirius XM Prepares Bankruptcy Filing

Just got a 1 year XM sub with my new Genesis. While I like much of the content, their sound quality is garbage on a 7.1 system. I hope they go under and someone resurrects them with a new business model based on near-HD quality audio.

    722 DVR during storms

DVR's, Storms, and You! Lol... you just don't give up do you. Even the most primitive among us would think to try a different recording. The bottom line is this: if my tuners are not locked in current space-time, I can not START ANY of my ~100 recordings. If I can view a recording...

    722 DVR during storms

I wasn't clear in stating my issue. The problem is that while I am watching a recorded show from weeks ago, the storm outside keeps interrupting it. The storm did not happen during the "taping" weeks ago, the storm is happening live while I am watching the "taped" show.

    Sorting recordings

Is it possible to sort recordings based on date with the oldest recordings at top? We like to view them in FIFO order so we must always page down to the end before selecting the show. TIA edit: This is on a 722

    722 DVR during storms

Why does the 722 interrupt the viewing of a recorded show with a notice when the "live" tuner(s) lose satellite acquisition? Seems completely unnecessary to me. And why they can't just be "canceled" with a single button press is beyond me. TIA
