I tore down an old dish the other day and have a chaparral feedhorn with a drake LNB on it. Not sure if it works but seems to be in good shape, let me know if you could use it!!

Been gone for a while, getting back up to speed

I don't have a 905 yet, but I can get one for $50. I am thinking I am going to do that for a while. It sucks what they did, making it all on one satellite. Maybe its time to get a DSR-410. Heck, maybe its time to go FTA

Been gone for a while, getting back up to speed

I would be looking more for a subscription, is a DSR 905 good enough to pick up any of skyvision's offerings? I think this weekend I may hit the skies with the analog to see whats out there :)

Been gone for a while, getting back up to speed

Hi all, Last time I was on I had just got a DSR920. After replacing my actuator, I still couldn't get a solid lock on much of anything, so I replaced my Feedhorn with an LNBF, it got a lot better, but still not great, the dish was too blocked in by the trees. I scrapped the dish and sold the...

    More Problems

Found another LNBF, this one doesn't say bandstacked, but I'm not sure how to tell if it isn't for sure. A good Clue would be the 4DTV Compatible logo I assume? Its pretty cheap, so I want to get it asap, let me know if it'll work. C Band Satellite TV Equipment 4DTV Receivers, Dish, & Dishes...

    Shrinking dish :(

can't help but I will say that I think my analog BUD looks better than the pizza pan HD. Its so compressed, the "HD" is a joke. Sorry I know its not helping but I'd look for another HDD200

New to C-Band Questions about HD

I will voice my opinion about the HD service. We run a dish pizza pan in addition to the BUD, and got a 65" TV. SD Dish looked like absolute crap. HD dish makes it look like the SD dish did on the 25" TV. I plugged in my BUD analog one night and in my opinion, looked actually better than dish's...

    More Problems

Would this LNBF Work for my needs: 17K B1 SAT Stack C-Band LNBF without Scalar So, If I understand correctly, I put it in, set the focal depth, connect the coax and '86 the servo wires? No servo to deal with? Sounds too good to be true.

    More Problems

Okay, so I think I have a actuator on the way, thats good. However it appears as though now my servo has crapped out. And also my cheap-o LNB has been geting worse and worse. So I'm thinking about going new horn/lnb all together. My question is, does an LNBF eliminate the need for a servo? And...

Huh and go figure I just picked up a 920 is great condition for free :D. Its good to have friends I guess. Anyway, about this battery thing. My reciever was supposedly left unplugged for a few years, and yet the unit ID is still intact, go figure. Maybe the battery has already been replaced?

Got another question, I'm getting a new actuator come pay day, and I'm trying to figure out my receiver. Everybody told me to set it to g1-3, but there is no g1 on my receiver. Somebody mentioned g9? Help!

Nope, we pick up our stations from the station directly, but we are 5 miles past the boonies. I'll check out the antenna stacking or maybe just change my antennas direction?

    Blast from the past

Ran across this on youtube the other day and couldn't believe my eyes. I remember playing this a long time ago, one time I think I won five bucks. But it was on S4, which for some reason we didn't get worth crap so it was always real sparkly and the sound was crap. Basil Basset Bingo (it won't...

    Theft Prevented

It does have to do with satellites, but it doesn't fit anywhere else. Anyway, my cousin lives in a slightly "shady" area, and he runs a 8' BUD with a DSR920. Anway, there had been a lot of metal theft in his area, and so he was always a bit nervous about the dish. One night his worst fears came...
