What is the difference between 1080i and 1080i HD. I'm watching channel 81 and it says 1080i with the HD symbol in the corner. Channel 83 says 1080i with no symbol in the corner. Is one in HD and the other is not??

Don't know. Came with the house when I bought it. It appears to be in good shape. I've spoken with my neighbor whose lived next door for 20 years. he said he thought it was probably 5 years old. Channels 2, 4 and 5 are real bad.

When could we expect D*tv to offer the locals in HD. I was told that the area I live in (Torrance, CA) gets bad reception regardless of what kind of antenna I have. I have some radio towers that they say causes bad interference. I could go HD with cable but I would perfer to stay with Direct.
