Well I still can't get the receiver to turn on/off but I realize that as good as the remote is I still need my Harmony universal remote to do other things so I will still use that most of the time.

Before tech came I tried to plug in the EHD and Dish came up asking me to format the drive for transfer but I never did thinking the tech could do it. Anyhow unless it is doable now that the Hopper w/sling is disconnected I will not worry about it any more.

The recordings that did not transfer also won't play on dish anywhere so why do they show up there? When I try to play them the player comes up but says 0minutes of 0minutes playback.

So I was able to pair my dish remote with my Yamaha receiver, but my question is how do I turn on and off my receiver with the dish remote or is this possible. All I can do is volume and mute. If remote will turn on/off my tv and Dish at the same time why not the receiver as well.

The major difference between top 200 and 250 are the movie channels Starz and The Movie Channel which have multiple channels.

I have harmony too and love it except the charging base sucks. I have 2 harmony remotes and only 1 charger works, but even then I have to sometimes jiggle the remote to make the connections. Also harmony won't always scroll to the correct input on my T.V.

I am a loyal long standing customer. When I called Dish to find out how to upgrade to the Hopper they told me I needed $100 and a 2 year agreement or $500 and no agreement. Is this correct? If so it is not worth it to me to upgrade since I don't want another 2 year agreement.
