Ooma has no monthly rate unless you think you need the Premier service. For me with a wife and teenage son the basic is perfect. You can check your voicemail on the website if you want to when you're out of town. Shop around for the hardware...I picked mine up onsale at jr.com over 18 months...

Well, for what it's worth I picked up a 7" device at Borders for my birthday last month. While it is true that out of the box it is only set up for the Borders reader for eBooks, it is also very true that the vast majority of the tablets in this size range have a world of alternative firmware...

Can't remember the model number and I am out of the counrty so I can't check. It works flawlessly with a ViP622, Yamaha surround system, Panasonic plasma, and a Toshiba DVD player. Cannot go wrong with one.

Very few people give a crap about sports in HD except the sports in the area they live in. I personally don't give a whit one way or the other. BUT...if it is going to cost ME more money every month for YOU to watch a game that I could care less about than I say, screw you and your HD sports...

Have you tried the format button on the remote? I believe that it is the * button on the bottom left. The zoom features are not in the menu, you need to hit the * button. Just sayin...

They get replaced with an equivilant ViP receiver. It would be cheaper than buying/paying fees to Tivo. Echostar (the equipment side) may take a loss, but in the end will profit. Just something to think about...
