    Tuner question

I am presently using a 722k receiver, even though I seem to remember the same situation with the VIP622. Let me set the scenario, then ask the question. I have a program set up to record from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM and the guide shows that this is recording on tuner 2. I have another program set to...

    FOX News Channel/DISH dispute

Not sure how a few can purport to speak for all of "rural America." A glance at a Red/Blue map of the USA is really more revealing than few comments here. I, for one, am pretty ticked at Fox/Dish. I'm sure they are both to blame to some extent.

Using optical splitter with VIP 622

It's not in that range, but I don't want to spend another $700 as little as I use it and throw a perfectly good system away just to get blu ray.

Using optical splitter with VIP 622

I haven't bought a blu ray yet, so that's a possibility. Where would it connect to the surround. As for another purchase, my current system is a Samsung wireless with a 5 disk changer. It was pretty expensive and I'd like to keep using the surround, just replace the player.

Using optical splitter with VIP 622

As soon as I do, something else new will replace it..

Using optical splitter with VIP 622

I have my 622 connected to my surround with the optical cable. I want to also connect a Blu Ray player to the surround system, but only have one input. I was looking at an optical splitter, but there was one poster that was unable to use the splitter with his satellite DVR because the connection...

Statement from DISH - Not Getting the New HD?

I had a call from Dish last night and the tech came today. He repointed one dish from 61.5 to 129, so now I have 110, 119, 129. Said I wouldn't lose anything off 61.5 that I won't pick up on 129. I think all I was getting from 61.5 was one of my locals, which has evidently been moved as I still...

Little help on RV installation, please

If I find a Dish 500, won't I need a switch to use with it?

Little help on RV installation, please

Well, of course. That makes perfect sense. Anyone have any experience with the DishPointer app?

Little help on RV installation, please

Two more questions. Why is the azimuth different on the 300 and the 500? Would an iPhone app like the DishPointer make finding angles easier?

Little help on RV installation, please

It's got to be the 18" although it measures a little bigger. One satellite is OK, though. As I said, this is for occasional use. If I can pick up Fox News and a movie channel or two, I'll be happy. Should I be using the 300 dis aiming coordinates with the Voom dish? Can I ignore the Skew with...

Little help on RV installation, please

Update to original post After much screwing around, I found 119 and all is working well. As long as I don't leave home and also leave the barn door open (can't close it with the dish on the front of the 5er) I've got TV. If I had not been at home and able to look at my dishes on the house, I...

Little help on RV installation, please

I'm trying to install an old Voom dish on my RV so that I can use my DP311 on an occasional basis. I can't seem to get a signal at all on the set. Will this 20" dish work ok as a Dish 500? The first problem that I see is that I don't have an azimuth adapter. Would that keep me from getting...

Best Signal Strength Meter for RVing

Thanks guys. I'll try the DishPoint system and see how that works out before I invest anything. I have an old Voom and a D* dish with single LNB. Looks like I can get everything that I want to see on 119. Will one of these dishes work ok for me?

Best Signal Strength Meter for RVing

$500 to watch for a few nights a year is a bit rich for my purposes. Also the Wineguard unit was what I was trying to avoid since it doesn't have a very good reputation. Thanks for the replies, but I'm still hoping for a better solution.:)

Best Signal Strength Meter for RVing

I'm sure there must be a thread for this somewhere, but I couldn't find it. What meter is working well for you. I would like something in the $100 range that would be fairly simple to use. I've read that the simple ones are pretty unreliable.

    CRANK-UP RV Digital Satellite Dish

Holy Cow! All I wanted to do was pick up a little SatTV on my occasional travels. Maybe I'll just buy a tripod and experiment.

    CRANK-UP RV Digital Satellite Dish

I'm looking at the Winegard manual model. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Is it easy to adjust once you've hit the campground? How hard is the installation? Any help would be appreciated.

    Spotbeams question

I'm only going to be there a week or so. Don't think I want to go to the trouble to "move" out there. Also, I'm not really looking to see their locals. I just want to get the usual Top 250 stuff. Is that all on one satellite? Since I'll only have one LNB, where should I aim?

    Spotbeams question

I am about to make a trip to Albuquerque and I am in the process of setting up a dish and plan to take my 322 with us to use in our RV. Which Satellite should I be trying to access? If I understand the spotbeam thing, we won't be able to pick up our Memphis locals anyway. Is that...

    Lost HDMI

The signal from my VIP 622 receiver went bonkers today and in checking out, went away completely. I am able to get signal through component cables, so I guess that HDMI output is kaput. I don't see a DHPP charge on my bill, even though it is over in the "Explanation of Charges" section...

Can u watch the inauguration at work?

Here is "old age." When I was in the 8th grade (1953) we listened to the McCarthy Senate hearings on communists in government on the radio. I'm not an Obama fan and I fear his presidency, I believe that the schools should be allowing students to view the inauguration.

    Got my TR-40CRA today.

I was told by the CSA at Dish that they were exactly the same. I got mine, but haven't tried out yet.
