OK. I figured out a convoluted way to fix my problem. First, I deleted the DirecTV app from my iPad. Then I did an iCloud backup of everything. I then erased my iPad's contents and restored it from a previous, two month old backup. When I clicked on the DirecTV app, it then worked fine!

That's an interesting observation. On Sunday I was watching the afternoon football game and the Emmy awards on my local Fox affiliate in HD via OTA antenna. I remember thinking to myself how good both of those programs looked.

My DirecTV statement shows $5.99 for the protection plan. I have two HR10-250s. It used to be 7.99 until DTV adjusted their prices a few months ago.

I don't believe you can connect your cable TV lline to the antenna in. You can connect the line to an external, over-the-air antenna though.
