Yes you can use a dvd recorder with your dvr. It doesn't matter you can do it off live tv or off the recorded programs.

If you only had one cable connected and then changed to 2, you have to reset the R15 in order to get it to recognize both connections.

You should be able to change remote address in the menus of either one. Go to menu, settings, setup, remote and that should allow you to change the address.

Check your signal and see if you show signal on any transponders. If you get a signal on 22-32 then you have the dish pointed at the 119 and if you only get a signal on 28, 30 or 32 then it would be pointing at 110. If this is the case then you will need to repeak the dish to the 101 sat. David

That sounds like the problem. The old mulitswitch is only for the 101 and will not see the 119 satellite. Yes the 5x8 will be the remedy for this.

Try swapping receivers and see if problem follows the receiver. If it does it is the receiver, if not then it is in the cable or multiswitch? (if you have one). Also do you have only 1 cable connected to the R15 or do you have 2? By the way the transponders will only matter for the channel...

What satellite does your locals come off of? If it is from the 119 the R15 could be trying to show those channels but is getting the signal from the 101. If this is the case redo the setup and make sure it is set for oval 3 and do not use the auto detect.

Did you have it on Sat A or Sat B on the multi-switch? It has to be connected to Sat A this is the 101 and main satellite location.

I believe that he was talking only for a few transponders to cover national hd channels, all the rest can still be spot beams for locals to more than the first 12 cities. It doesn't mean only 1 big spot beam from sw1 and sw 2 is all they can have up there.

All I can say is that mine has never deleted a show unless I told it to. The dual buffer is in the works for a software upgrade so it will be coming.

I really like mine. I think that the biggest thing I miss is the live buffer of both tuners, otherwise I think it is pretty good DVR. I have only had one lock up and that was 2 weeks ago.
