    Long time subscriber. I'd prefer not to ask for retention right from the start. I seem to recall, the last time I did this, I got transferred to "Loyalty". Took 10 minutes, with no hassle, and worked nicely.

    Gave it a go myself. Was very polite. Told them what Dish offered for equivalent service, equipment and programming with 2 yr contract. Got transferred to "Loyalty". With no fuss, got $53/month reduction. Doesn't hurt being a 20 yr customer. Very polite and professional on their end as well...

    Red botton on remote hardly ever works on sports channels

    Title says it all. HR24-100, H24-100, H21-100. Never worked really well, but now is almost useless. Red button does work for other funtions

    I have recently watched movies I videotaped in the early 80's with no problems. There didn't appear to be any deterioration. Of course the quality wasn't great, but very watchable.

    I had a certified TV calibration man tweak my HD TV and we found better resolution on component than on hdmi.

    Thanks...very helpful. Do you find it surprising that they tried to stick me with a 3-lnb? Of course it could've been the installer, who aside from this, did a very nice job.
