    821/dual dp44/must-carry notes

It misses the lower San Francisco local channels (from 2 upto 22 some of these are on 119) Your local signal strengths may be different. I swapped the two DP44 switches and then replaced both of them with 2 others with no difference - hence the confidence of my assertion.

    821/dual dp44/must-carry notes

Putting the 121 on the 3rd port and 148 on the 4th port causes several 148 channels to not be seen.

    821/dual dp44/must-carry notes

SanFran 921/Superdish/dual dp44/must-carry notes I just upgraded my dual dp34 switch with dual dp44 switches and added a dish pointed at 148 for San Francisco must-carry local channels, to my existing superdish at 110,119,121. These are attached to a 921, a 6000, a 501, and a 4900. It took...

    Getting 121 but not 119 & 110

Well, it has been very windy here over the last two nights in Marin county. Sunday night, I lost reception several times on my superdish - which has a larger wind footprint than the smaller dishes. You may want to get Dish to send an installer to re-peak your dishes.

    New 921 no workee

Well I have been on the phone with Dish since yesterday. Each time the CSR tells me that some super-duper advanced CSR will call - and no one does. I explained to him that I had looked on the internet and the common resolution was a receiver replacement. He said that the only people authorized...

    New 921 no workee

Got my new 921 this afternoon. Hooked it up just fine and even got the receiver validated and receiving programs. I noticed that the software version was L055, so the CSR guided me to start the new software download. There were something like 30 groups to download, which it took about 45...

    So I took the plunge

I just put my $549 in to the Ebay retailer with the lowest shipping charge and who is a certified dish retailer. God have mercy on my soul! I was going to give my business to Claude at the Dishstore, but his shipping charges are higher than the competition. Sorry, but every dollar counts around...

Poll: Will you wait for the 942?

It sounds like the 921's are starting to roll out and back orders will be filled within a month. Given the problems of the 921 (many yet to be resolved), will you plonk down ~$1000 and buy one now or are you going to wait for an indeterminate amount of time for the 942 to be released with the...

    DVI vs. Component for Voom

Wow, so these CSRs don't even know what is on the products they sell? That's not very encouraging to new customers. Is the DVI connector DVI-D or does it also have analog output? If it is the latter, I can use a DVI/VGA adapter that came with my PC.

    DVI vs. Component for Voom

Now I am really confused! So I called Voom and they insist that their receiver doesn't need any special connectors to connect to the VGA input on my projector. I asked them several times, and after confering with someone, came back and insisted that the receiver has a VGA output. I looked at...

    If I return my Voom

If I decide to terminate my "no obligations" Voom subscription, I know I have to return my receiver. Uninstalling the dish from my roof is another matter. Will Voom pay the installer to uninstall the dish? Do they even want the dish back?

    DVI vs. Component for Voom

How do I hook up my UXGA display? I am considering switching from E* to voom. Currently the E* HD receiver (6000U) is hooked to my CRT projector with a HD15 connector. The voom receiver seems to only support component or dvi output - neither of which is supported by my projector. Am I SOL?
