Why are they croping programs? They are cutting off the top and bottom and it still doesn't fill the screen. I have been watching TNTHD for a while now and they stretch better than these new channels. I can deal with the stretch, but the crop is terrible. I was watching a show with subtitles the...
I have an idea as I am having the same problem. I read a post in the other forum that you have to call your local provider that sends the signal to D* and tell them they need to adjust it.
Maybe we could have a sticky post of our local providers contact #s so we all know who to call and...
Here's the post that I'm talking about:
B-Band Converter Test Channel 499 - DBSTalk.Com
If you are getting the "BBC Missing" message, and you have them connected...
You may have an imcompatible multiswitch installed.
The Zinwell 6802 multiswitch is NOT compatible with the new sat's...
I read over at DBSTalk that some multi switches don't work with the converters. You need to use the builtin (Straight from dish or some certain kind of switches). Do a search for B-Band and I'm sure you will find it.
I just got off the phone with D* The HR20 and 5 LNB dish will cost me $21.34. The install is setup for 7/22 on a Sunday. I forgot to ask and called back and was told that I keep my HR10-250. At first I asked if they will send a shipping box and she said I own it I keep it. I got her name and...
It was a good deal. The DVR would be $80 after 12 months, but I have heard of people upgrading and keeping their Tivo for shipping cost. I don't have the $200 bucks to kick in right now. I might just trade it in even stevens. It will be obsolete anyway.
Well she offerd me $299 take off $100 = $199 and $10 off of bill for next 12 months and I keep my HR10-250.I didn't go for it. I'll try again next week
I searched but, could not find the answer. Will Directv ship me the HR-20 and Dish so that I can do a self install? This is not my first rodeo:D I own an HR10-250 and I want to keep it. Will I have to play CSR roullette to get a free one? I guess I know the answer to that one.
I have the manual, but it doesn't say anything about dimmer problems. I went to the local Rat Shack and tried one out and it dimmed just fine. Eveything in my package was new,but the receiver was used. Something tells me that he had a problem and swapped out receivers and put it up for...
Well I just bought a Sportster Replay unit used and can't get the dimmer to work. I select manual and turn it down and nothing happens. Is there a problem with these unit's?
I have a 2000 Chevy pickup and was wondering if there are any options for mounting an antenna inside the front windshield? I have seen the Sigma, but was wondering if putting the OEM antenna on the dash would work?
I am also curious about this as well. Growing up I am used to watching Boston locals as well as the Providence/New Bedford locals. R.I. is such a small state that Boston is considered local, but not according to the DMA?????
On this page here if you scroll down there is some very small screen shots. If you look at the icons they are a different color.I asume these are folders. I'd like to see more.

The specs say it will have now playing folders and if you look at the icons next to the now playing shows they are different on page 2. You can't see them very well, but they are different.
This is the only page that I could find that dispalys the R10 (DVR80).It looks just like the RCA DVR80 Tivo that I have. This page was created 10/23/04.There also is a post in the DVR forum about this.

Do this in the now playing and it brings up the sort option:
(S)low,(0)zero,(R)ecord,(T)humbs up
Select,Play,Select,9,Select turns on the clock in the bottom right corner.Do it again and go to Tivo central and back and it's gone.
I had suggestions on for over a year and just upgraded to the DVR80 and the list get's so long that I turned it off and now check out the what would be recorded and see if there is something that i like.
Here is the back view. If you only have 1 lnb cable hooked up you will only get half the transponders or half the channels. On this pic you can see each side is designated 13v or 18v.
4 questions:
1) What kind of dish?
2) Is it a dual output lnb and do you have both lnb A and lnb B plugged into the multiswitch in the right slot's?(13v/18v)
3) What model is the Terk multiswitch?
4) Do you have 2 cables going to your Tivo?
Is this the kind of switch you have?
Lnb...
Ok there are 4 type's dish's. The original 18" round with either a single output or a dual output. The 24" oval with a dual lnb and access for a 3rd lnb. The 20" 3 lnb (which is the most used now) and new 34" which I've just heard about.
You say you have the round dish. All dish's have one...
Do you have a 1 lnb dish with 1 output going into a multiswitch? If so you need a dual output lnb to work with that multiswitch. It sounds like you only have 1 tv and all you need is a dual lnb.
I pay $65 a month for Total choice plus with locals and HBO. I have 2 directivo's. This would be $60 a month with 1 directivo. They charge $5 mirroring fee for each additional receiver and a $5 DVR fee for all DVR's(1 fee for all). With 3 more receiver's it will be $15 more (5 total=$80 $68 w/o HBO)
