D* paper bill vs. website problem

Well, if you go to view your statement online now it states that by signing up you'll no longer be receiving a paper copy in the mail. I don't know if that's new or not, but it seems you can't have both now.

    Interactive Receiver

None of the HD receivers are currently interactive, except for the recently released HR20 (the new MPEG4 HD DVR), but that isn't widely available yet. Aside from that, the D10, D11, and the R15 are the only interactive receivers at the moment.

    Channel 996 is a go!

Seems to be in a very few select markets. Austin (Ch 15) Dallas (Ch 15) Denver (Ch 15) Jacksonville (Ch 15) Kansas City (Ch 15) Minneapolis (Ch 15) Orlando (Ch 14) Paducah (Ch 15) Philadelphia (Ch 15) San Antonio (Ch 15) No great loss to me anyway though.

    Otahd! Wow!

Well, even the strongest amp made couldn't help me. There's only the one fox affiliate in Maine, and none in NH. The next closest affiliate is 150 some miles away in Boston. I shouldn't really complain though. From 2001-2003 we didn't even have an analog FOX channel here, so this is better...

    Otahd! Wow!

The local FOX affiliate here (WFPO) doesn't broadcast HD OTA, and they can't before 2009. :( I wish I could get FOX in HD, especially since most of the football I watch is on there.

    Multiple DVR's

It's still $5.99 regardless of how many DVRs you have.

So my installer is running 2 hours late...

I take that back, I really shouldn't've felt sorry for him. The guy was an ass. He tried to walk off with my remote and all the included cables. I asked him what that was about and he said I didn't need them (since he was upgrading from a D10 he just reused all the same cables). The D10 is...

So my installer is running 2 hours late...

and I actually feel sorry for the guy. My installer (with Directech) just called and said he'd be here around 2pm (was scheduled 8-12) because he was tied up with a few other installs this morning in Boston... I live in Maine. Now that's nearly a 3-hour drive from here and I'm the...

What is the full price on a Directv DVR (model r15)? Being charged a leasing fee!!

One way or another, you're going to pay the $4.99. If you own the box it will just be a "mirror fee" rather than a "lease fee".

    HD DVR box???!!!

The box is from an HR10-250, but the auction is for an H20 (HD, no DVR). So no, it's not the NEW HD DVR. //edit Wow, I'm slow. This had no replies when I posted. :o

    Software version 10D1

He said an R15-500 (Humax). I haven't heard anything about that version either though.

    New DTV Customer with questions...

No. Only the D10/D11 and R15 are "Active". You would still be able to see the mix channels with other receivers, but you won't be able to cycle through the channels or access the other interactive features (weather, lottery, etc.). If you want active-capability the R15 (DVR Plus) is your only...

No issues here... but NESN is one of my local RSNs so this probably doesn't help you at all. Sorry.

    Directv's Website

It's slow for me as well, but I blame that on poor routing, not their website: Tracing route to directv.com [147.21.128.18] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 10.21.1.1 2 7 ms 7 ms 8 ms at-0-2-0-1710.CORE-RTR1.PORT.verizon-gni.net [130.81.10.241]...

    Want to add 1 or 2 dvr's

Be aware that if you're only paying $99 you're buying leased equipment. The cost to "own" one is somewhere around $300 I believe.

Getting a DirecTv DRV as a gift, and have an installation question.

You can watch a recorded show while recording another one, but you can't watch a live show at the same time.

    Want to add 1 or 2 dvr's

It doesn't matter where you get the R15. As part of the lease terms, you are agreeing to a 2-year commitment by activating it. If you want to avoid that your best bet might be trying to find a couple of old DirecTivos since they were never leased. Now you could just plug them in yourself, but...

    locals

Interesting... I'm supposed to be getting HD locals by the end of the year. The regular locals were delayed almost a year, so I won't hold my breath. :p

    Free DVR for everybody?

The current promotion is for a free R15 with a 2-year comittment (or in my case, with a $120 deposit as well).

    Free DVR for everybody?

I wonder which one you're getting... anyone can get a free R15 right now, but nice job if you're getting the HD one. Being a 1-heart customer sucks. I can't get anything. :(

    Fee, based on account history?

Ahh, okay that makes sense. I remember reading about the hearts, but I've never actually heard of anyone having 1 heart. I feel special now. :p

    Fee, based on account history?

Before I can lease a DVR (or another standard receiver for that matter) I've been told that I'm required to pay a $120 deposit on top of the receiver cost, and the website confirms this ("Fee Based on Account History $120.00") when going through the order process. Anyone have any insight on...

    Got the Protection Plan

I currently pay $5.99 with two standard recievers. When inquiring about a DVR I was informed the protection plan would rise to $7.99 if/when the DVR was activated.
