    LNA vs. LNB Feedhorn

Thanks! I thought that was the case, but it's been so long since I've worked with this stuff I couldn't remember if there was something different about the probe for an LNA or not.

    LNA vs. LNB Feedhorn

I have an old dual C-band feedhorn that was used on an LBA system, but I would like to used it with an LNB - is there any difference in feedhorns between LNA and LNB?

RTN FEED - reception issues on AMC 9 @ 83.0W

There appears to be an issue with the Coolsat-5000 and the RTN feeds receiving interference from an adjacent signal. I have a 12' dish with the Coolsat connected to it as a slave and for the first time a few weeks ago noticed RTN had disappeared... I had to manually add them back in (a blind...

    RTN on AMC-9(KU) Gone?

Got them back! Well I really can't explain it... but, I deleted all the channels and predefined transponders on that satellite and did a blind scan and both east & west RTN channels popped up... someone else mentioned an NBC feed on a nearby frequency.. . when I lost RTN and their signal level...

    RTN on AMC-9(KU) Gone?

Yeah, I did a rescan... no joy. Did a power cycle... no joy. Strange that during the rescan it came up with a couple of SNG uplinks, but it didn't find RTN. This is on a Coolsat-5000.

    RTN on AMC-9(KU) Gone?

It shows a signal level that fluctuates between 75-95 - has been stable prior to today - but the video has been blank all day... it was there yesterday and other NBC transponders on same satellite come in just fine.

Is PBS (W4-16) gone from analog?

Someone in the control room must have flipped the wrong switch, because it's now working.

    PBS on AMC-4/16 (analog)

Well it looks like PBS on AMC-4/16 (analog) is still there. It's a mirror of the programming on PBS-HD, actually it' been that way for weeks. I thought I remember reading awhile ago where there was some government mandate that PBS had to keep this in-the-clear.

    PBS on AMC-4/16 (analog)

In looking at this weeks PBS Sked-X programming listing they list Thursday (2/12/09) as "off-air" - are they eliminating their analog C-band feed?

Nebraska Educational TV on Galaxy 25(C)

Thanks! I blind scanned G26 a couple of times (using a Coolsat 5000) and it failed to find it, I had to manually add the transponder and symbol rate and it finally found it! Tony Home Page - ANTHONY W. HAUKAP: Official Website - Home Theater, Satellite Television --

Nebraska Educational TV on Galaxy 25(C)

It was their one FTA channel that I was looking for, just did a blind scan of G26 and didn't find it... it was occasional video, but usually carried NET1 or NET3 programming on it. Tony Home Page - ANTHONY W. HAUKAP: Official Website - Home Theater, Satellite Television --

    using a in line amp....

I have experimented with in-line amplifiers, my dish is about on the so-called limit, it has about a 90-foot run of cable going to it, and I’ve found that whether you put them on the LNB at the dish, or where the cable enters the house, or even on the back of the receiver they tend to add more...

    Schedule for PBS channels?

Okay, I found out a bit more information... the PBS channel that broadcasts programming a day later is called PBS-Encore and is part of the digital HDTV signal that *some* local PBS stations offer.
