Now, if and/or when D* is offering more HD content than E* (possibly next fall), will these same arguments be valid? Will everyone be jumping ship to D* because they may (for the time being) have a few extra HD channels than E* (hypothetically speaking).

1 - New HD DVR is out! I'd get on the list for it, not sure how soon you could get it though, maybe just in CA right now? 2 - maybe, maybe not. No one knows for sure, some have been promised free upgrade, we'll see. I would count on a $99 upgrade fee, myself. 3 - I've read the same, not sure...

When I switched to D* a couple years back, the installer was scheduled to arrive between 1-5. He kept me informed throughout the day, so that part was good, but he didn't show up until 8 or so. Left about midnight. That was fine with me, I had already disconnected E*, and wanted tv that night!

This may be related, but I get the following error whenever I click on any of the forums...... The only threads I can see are the most recent in each forum, or the last 10 posted on the main page. There seems to have been a slight problem with the SatelliteGuys.US database. Please try again...

I got out of the shipping fee for the third time just this past weekend. I told them I was thinking about switching to D*(no lie), and this 14.95 shipping may just be the last straw. I usually throw in something why am I being asked to pay for the fact that E* can't make more reliable...

Neutron and stratguy, If you don't already know, there are emulators available where you can play the older console games right on your pc. I don't think the new systems are available, but I often play MAME for classic arcade games, and there are NES, Super NES, and Atari 2600 emulators...
