I didn't read through all the posts in this thread but I thought I would call dish and check on an upgrade from my hopper with external sling to the new hopper and I was told it was $100. Are there any promotions or anything to get this waved?

I just shut down one of my receivers and it took about two weeks and three calls to get the box. It seemed to take longer than necessary to just send a box.

Pardon my ignorance, but it seems there are two listings for HD channels in the guide. One is typically something that makes sense like 42 and the other is like in the 9000 range. Is this the exact same feed or is one more reliable?

I went back and checked Celebrity Apprentice and it seems to have straightened out ATM. I guess I will just keep an eye on it. I don't know if the time change had anything to do with it.

My service is almost perfect except for HD locals. If they were at least as reliable as the rest of the stations I would be pretty happy. I had SD for years with no issues and really don't have many HD issues other than locals.

Welcome to Dish local HD problems....:( I have same issue Birmingham market but I just give up trying to figure out what the problem is as it happens more than it doesn't. I feel I have Stockholm syndrome with Dish locals lolz.....

Unless by live you mean a show that you have paused. I haven't noticed it and I have a 622. If you have a specific example I can watch for the commercial.

Can you send me a copy of the email you sent? I just need to figure out how to word this so that they understand what I am talking about. Are you using a 622, just curious if that might be a factor. I don't think it is but I don't know enough to be sure.

I did the same procedure using 119 and 9 and it hovers around 59-60 signal strength. I don't know if I am on the wrong sat or what. If anyone can advise what I can say to a CSR that will make sense to them and get this resolved that would be most awesome.

Ok, I looked at this and it has a 75 signal strength but it's red, screaming at me, and says wrong sat - echostar 119 west.

I will check to see what that looks like today. The OTA HD locals are great. I wasn't thinking it could be hardware due to the fact no other HD channels have issues only the locals. I will report back on what the signal looks like.

Can anyone offer me a real explanation as to why my HD locals have a LOT of issues. The recording is crap, or the station comes and goes with the infamous we know about this problem message. I have zero problems with any of my HD channels except for the locals. It might be one channel one day...

I am completely put out by the performance of HD locals from Dish. I am in the Birmingham market and the HD locals have had one problem or another for months now. I don't know if it is just me or what but the customer reps always walk me through the same dog and pony show and it never sticks...

I've done all that too many times to count to no avail. It would seem weird to be the station since it works fine if your watching live.
