    Return Equipment Question

My two years was up and I canceled. They sent the box to return the receivers. I packed up the power cords, remotes, and the receivers. I noticed it said to also return all accessories. (like the B band adapters). I was given B band adapters when I first got installed but my dish got damaged in...

SWM myself or get D* to do it?

I will call and see if they lock me in on a new commitment. Thanks for the reply.

SWM myself or get D* to do it?

I'm debating my options. My 24 month commitment just ran out. I have been using my HR21's with only one input since my rooms have one coax. I don't have HD right now because a couple months after I got service we had a tornado and it took the dish so I hooked up an old 3 lnb dish and that's what...

Enter to Win: Sponsors Super Satellite Sampler System - Contest Ends 2.28.2010

I got interested in FTA truely for the wild feeds. It's really amazing to find tons of different feeds. you never know what will pop up. Plus it's a great way to compliment any paid tv package or just go OTA and FTA!

    Resetting up my dish, question

I moved a while back and I'm just now setting up my FTA system today. I setup the dish and made sure everything is right and I'm aiming it now. I haven't had the system running for a year or so. I have a Fortecstar Lifetime NA receiver. I found my truesouth satellite Galaxy 19 (97w) (it was IA5...

$50 Dish Grounding Inspection Fee passed by Omaha, Ne

While I don't live in Omaha, I live in Lincoln about 50 miles SW. When I saw this on the local news I just about blew a gasket. Even if it's not in my city, the chances are being so close to Omaha and having a bunch of bone heads running this city as well they might pass the same regulation. For...

    Review Of Sky Angel Iptv

Sounds like you are using wireless internet (a WISP). You can have a really fast speed tier but the latency is what is going to make the buffering an issue. I had a 10/1 connection on a wireless internet connection. It worked great most of the time but for voip it really did tend to cut out...

    Also considering Sky Angel

I have had service about a month and it's been really good. The channels I really wanted, I have now. I do wish they had history channel but so far after cutting directv I have been able to manage on OTA HD, skyangel and netflix! My son enjoys watching Qubo and I really dont have to worry about...

Any word on Skyangel adding more channels?

I vote for History Channel. :)

    Considering SkyAngel

I put the mac address of the wired network port in my router and made sure it has priority over all other internet traffic and it seems to work quite well when using other applications like voip and vpn where they try to steal away from the skyangel box.

    Considering SkyAngel

Do you know what ports sky angel uses on the internet? I want to add QoS on my router so that it has priority. I guess I could always do it by mac address and have the device its self get full priority. When I have two pptp vpn connections, someone on the phone (voip) it does tend to buffer a...

    Considering SkyAngel

Got my skyangel equipment today! setup was a breeze. picture quality is really good. The VOD channels are impressive. I don't have the faith package but the family ones supplement my hd locals I get over antenna really well. If skyangel got history channel that's all I would ever need. :) it's...

    Considering SkyAngel

Thanks for all the replies. pulled the trigger today. Hopefully I will get it this week. for $20 a month to be able to watch fox news and my kids to have some cartoons seems like a pretty good deal. That combined with my hd ota, hulu, I should be set.

    Considering SkyAngel

thanks for the reply! It really sounds like a pretty good deal. The family pack has pretty much what I watch. How do the shows work...are they pretty close to the real tv channel. you don't have to pick a show and it ends... like fox news...how far behind the normal feed is it?

    Considering SkyAngel

Well my choices are limited since I live in the country. Either Directv or Dish Network. I wont go with Dish because they ticked me off so bad in the past. Directv is starting to nickle and dime me to death. I lost my sat in a storm and really don't want to pay to have someone come out to give...

    Tornado Damaged Dish

I have two options with D* they can add 5.99 for a year or 49.99 one time visit. hmmm might just buy a dish without the lnb's to see if it would work.

    Tornado Damaged Dish

thanks for the reply. I will check with them and see what they say. I do have a pile of dishes around so if worst comes to worst I can use 5 single dishes maybe. or least get one up for 101, 110.

    Tornado Damaged Dish

We had a tornado today. missed our house but we got some wind damage and one item that was lost was our directv dish. The dish is pretty twisted so it can't hold a signal. Will directv replace this for free or do I have to pay a large fee for them to come out? If that is the case I might just...

UHF or VHF after switch overs?

Thanks for the replies! I guess we will have to wait and see what happens once its all done as far as how my signal goes.

UHF or VHF after switch overs?

I have a couple local stations making the switch tonight. It just dawned on me and almost confused me a little about whats actually going on here. All the stations that are broadcasting lets say on a channel like 22 will be moving down to their normal channel....so will everything be UHF or VHF...

    Noob has questions

Thanks for the offer but I'm up in Nebraska. Should be quite a few around here. I guess when I see them I assume they are in use but I guess I should just stop and ask. Thanks for the feedback guys. Cband seems to be very interesting with all the packages and what you can do. Ideally I would...

    Noob has questions

ok thanks! After looking at the skyvision package deal with the dish included. It's a 6ft. Is the stuff on W5 have a pretty good signal where a 6ft be enough?
