I am looking to upgrade to a HD DVR. My question is I live near syracuse ny and who knows when we will have HD locals. Will the new HDdvr still be able to pick up my locals with the old 72.5 dish and the new dish? I don't want to lose my locals and have to wait for syracuse to get lit up in hd...

i live near syracuse ny. I get the locals off of the 72.5 and get HD networks from fox and abc (the national feeds). I was cleared for waivers before they offered locals in our area. So until they put syracuse local in hd i get the national feeds for hd on fox and abc plus the locals from 72.5.

looking to get a directv tivo. Are they good? How does it handle ppv. Say if you buy a ppv fight and don't watch it that night but the next day you don't have to pay for it again or anything do you? Just wanting to know some info on it wanting to get one for a parent that can't handle setting...

some of you guys need to research before you jump head first into a hdtv. Yes hd looks great but the sd channels if streched will look somewhat blurry and distorted. I am used to it and think it looks fine. Give it a few years so more people can get these tvs and change the programing then

for the 72.5 sat you need the 2nd dish because it's a fourth satellite. some locals aren't on the other satellites.

make sure you hook it up right. you need to run all 4 cables from the phase III lnb multi switch to the 6x8 multi switch. at least thats what the installer told me had to be done as i watched him do the install.

I think it is to the east a few degrees? i think the 72.5 sat is at 173 and the 110 sat is 230 on a compass for me. sound right?

anyone have a link to where i can find the azimuth and elevation for the 72.5 sat. my zip is 13045. just wondering because i need to see what direction it is going to be pointing. is it real close to the other 3 or not?

i got waviers for fox and abc denied cbs and nbc. There is no way i can pick up HD ota to many hills in the way so who know if i will ever get nbc or cbs in hd.

My locals just became available "syracuse". My question is if I get the locals will I still be able to get fox HD "baseball for now" and abc when both of these go HD full time. I only have waviers for fox and abc. Would like to get my locals but don't want to lose out on HD feeds.

it sucks for us who have waviers and can't get fox HD while you guys are flipping back and forth between 2 HD feeds and comparing. I would gladly settle for one feed. You guys are damn lucky.
