Currently fiber is being used for some theatre HD - PTP, and I can’t see Voom making this part its business plan.

My Sony LMD230WS LCD is incredibly unforgiving in regards to pixilation and compression and I can report all channels including SD show marked improvement. Interesting for me to toggle between HD-SDI (Final CutPro / Kona Card - 4:4:4 source) and HD component (Voom) - I see little difference...

More retro programming with Goodlife Television would be my vote as they are not currently carried on either DISH or DIRECT. Time Warner began carrying Goodlife in the New York area and the response has been positive.

On the SD front - CNN tonight looked like I was watching a 320/240 quicktime movie at 15 frames a second :) - very bad. even worse when the wife notices it !

I'd keep Scott's number handy because with every power pump and over time your settings will indeed shift. True calibration requires re-setup daily to SMPTE bars at the very least. Learning how to use a good calibration disk seems more like a plan.
