    NFL Network Dispute? -- Resolved

I think RZ is seriously one of the greatest things to happen in the history of television. For me, it's way better than watching full games, even of my favorite team. So much down time and non-action time where nothing happens is just gone. I love it.

New Hopper OS With Larger Font Option

Looks good to me. I experience a lot of lag when navigating the menus, so hopefully this makes it more responsive. We'll see, tho'.

Do you like getting annual pay raises at work how about promotions?

Weird OP. Bashing unions, but I should suck up the price increases, for "the good of the people."

    DISH at CES

Not sure if I could be less excited about something than I am 4k. Truthfully, I don't think much tech or more "features" could be added that would benefit me, personally, other than more customizable packages that would lower my overall bill. PTAT, auto hop, a bunch of tuners - meh, don't need...

    Is Dish crazy...162.48 per month?

It's a rip-off and we all know it.

Dish Rumored to launch internet only TV package by the end of the summer

The only sports available are anything you can get local FTA and MLB, NBA, and NHL regular season games that aren't blacked out in your area. All other sports broadcasts require a cable/sat sub. That's not a la carte.

5 most hated companies in America

We had Comcast from '05 to '06 and I'd still put those ******* at the top of my most hated list. I have no 1st hand info, but I've read that bit about working for Dish before, though. Although I'm not exactly tickled pink with the value I get from Dish, their customer service has been fine for...

    Great article on Dish

This sounds great, but there's a lot between here and there. I would love love love this to work out and really stick it to the current carriers, but we've all seen pie in the sky before.

NOTICE OF PENDENCY OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT

Yeah, pretty much the same for me: if I have to move off the couch? Sue, baby, sue. :p IIRC, I got a check for like $3.48 one time for a rewritable cd's lawsuit or something. Been a while. Bet the compensation here is similar.

Charlie Approaches DIRECTV about a Merger.

Interesting, but I kind of see it differently. Charlie has shown he's not afraid of upsetting content providers and battling with them. I'm not always his biggest fan, but combining the DTV and Dish subs would make a pretty hefty stick to swing at CBS, Fox, ABC, etc.

Price increases in February 2014 (UPDATED!)

There's so much of this that just sucks about the whole cable/sat tv industry, anyway. I can't get what I want. I have to buy stuff I don't want and pay more, just to get the few things I do want. That's terrible. That's the consumer getting screwed, just because that's the way it's always been...

DISH Announces 2014 CES Press Event

That's helpful, too. Thank you very much.

DISH Announces 2014 CES Press Event

Ok, thanks I got it. Funny, I would never have found that because I always go straight to the Dish forum and don't really visit anywhere else on the boards. :p

DISH Announces 2014 CES Press Event

Could someone please point me to a thread or perhaps a post w/Cliffs Notes of what was announced today? No disrespect meant, I'm just not sure I can wade through 40 pages of varying relevance and actually find that info. Thank you.

    Guide question

I'm having the same problem. I've had my hopper a long time and rebooting doesn't solve it. This problem just started when the extra holiday music channels went live.

    Retailer Chat Recap - Oct 4, 2013

Plenty of on demand content from premium channels.

    Retailer Chat Recap - Oct 4, 2013

Scott, Any idea when we can expect this? The On Demand interface is probably my biggest (maybe only) gripe w/the Hopper system. Search and downloading multiple episodes are really, really kludgy, so I'm looking forward to some improvements.

DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

I don't really care which way it works, as long as my bill is cheaper and I get the channels I want. Doesn't matter, though, because this talk is basically moot. There is no way Dish goes w/o espn long-term. It's just not happening.

DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

Sports are pretty much the only reason I still pay for tv.

That makes sense. Thanks for the help.

Hopper guide channel block, couple of minor issues

So, I have a bunch of channels blocked from the guide on my hopper. I do it to shrink the size of my guide by blocking out channels we never watch (shopping channels, religious, ppv, dish music, etc) and I like paging through the guide much better since I started doing this. But, I have 2...

    The cost of sports

NBC/CBS/FOX/ESPN will collectively pay about $5 billion per yr for NFL rights in the next contract ('14-'22). The NCAA b-ball tourney rights currently cost 10.8 billion for CBS and Turner over 14 years (for just the tourney...). ESPN pays about $2 billion/year for the rights to broadcast NCAA...

Holy Cow Did Multisport Get Expensive!

I only really watch a few things, mainly sports. Adding those channels to the sport pack lets me save some $$ by dropping down a tier or 2, despite picking up the sport pack year round, and still see what I want.

Holy Cow Did Multisport Get Expensive!

MultiSport also now includes NFL Network, NHL Net, NBA TV and MLB channel, in addition to BeIn, BeIn 2 and FS2. I get it every year for the RedZone and I don't remember that being the case before (obv not FS2 or Pac 12). I could be wrong about that, tho'.
