DISH Network Statement Regarding the FCC’s Program Access Decision

That's Comcast SportsNet Northwest, an RSN which has had a lot of carriage troubles - and no, it's not a terrestrial loophole case. The main cases of terrestrial loophole issues are Philly and San Diego with RSNs (CSN Philly and COX4, while not an RSN does carry all San Diego Padres games, are...

What Has Been Dish Network's Best & Worst moments for the past Decade?

I wonder what the Fisher dispute would fall under. Best because Dish stood up to some bad demands or worst because people lost their ABC (or CBS in a case or two)?

I've been snoozing a bit too much

For some reason, I took a bit of a hiatus and haven't been active in the satellite scene for two months. What have I missed since October in the Dish world?

switching from Time Warner Cable to Dish-a few more questions, please!

The Dish/TiVo suit is a patent issue over DVR technologies, not a user interface dispute. You're lucky you switched now because WBNS HD became available a month or two ago (after Dispatch and Dish were battling).

Message: Losing HGTV and Food TV

The mailing address will go up on the News Monitor tonight. Attn: Brooke Johnson and Attn: Jim Samples will get it read by high-level management (the presidents of Food Network and HGTV, respectively).

Message: Losing HGTV and Food TV

They are actual sites (they look like the networks' image campaigns), and there's no doubt SNI made them, but this is weird advertising.

Message: Losing HGTV and Food TV

My guess: Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) needs a separate contract from E.W. Scripps Company (the local stations and newspapers) now for carriage. The two companies split either last year or two years ago. Re Slamminc11: Wait 24 hours and see what happens. October 1 starts a whole new...

Praise the Lord! Another retrans agreement vanishes! (Also good news for Erie!)

Thanks, rocatman. That was awkward wording on my part, looking back.

Praise the Lord! Another retrans agreement vanishes! (Also good news for Erie!)

Praise the Lord! Dispatch agrees to a deal - and more! This Twitter message at the top of the pile is the best news for two markets since who knows when. It's a retweet from @10TV that reads: DISH Network/WBNS-10TV have come to an agreement that will bring HD to subscribers' homes on DISH...

University of Arizona football game this weekend?

There's a new Wildcats OTA network or something. In Phoenix, it's KAZT (7).

Isn't the MyNetworkTV in Charlotte based out of/licensed to Rock Hill too?

Do you live or work in the Lima area? Do you receive channels via OTA?

Can you explain if (like Wikipedia claims) all the LPTV Big Four stations still have analog or if they've cut to digital as the names of Dish channels would suggest? There aren't many sources for this.

i got new tv how do i go high def?

Most of the Dish ViP receivers have tuners for ATSC. Get a good antenna (outdoors always is best) for your stations and use TVFool to determine other important properties of the antenna. You need VHF-UHF (don't buy an "HDTV" antenna or you'll only get Fox).

Trinity, not Tribune. Tribune = WXMI, Trinity = WTLJ

There's probably an "authorized" retailer in the picture here.

And don't get TurboHD if you want a constant stream of new HD channels.

i got new tv how do i go high def?

Is the 311 a ViP? If not, get a ViP model HD receiver (722 or 722k). You'll want to connect the two with component (red, green, blue, red, white) or HDMI cables to receive an HD picture. You'll also have to call Dish to get HD if that's not an HD package. If you want OTA functionality, that's...

    MyTVQ2 and CWKYT

No. The difference with Lexington is that these are digital subchannels. Nashville has standalone stations that must be carried as part of must-carry. When WKYT and/or WTVQ's retrans deals come along, either station could ask for subchannel carriage as part of the deal.

More HD & SD Locals for Dish Customers.

Scott, the last three have common ownership. Do you realize that the afterburn of a retrans deal is what Dish's HD Tuesday is? I'm so Schurz about it that I'd bet on it.

HD Tuesday Roundup: Schurz as the Sun Rising
