Goodbye 922, it just went in a box and back to the installers truck. The Hopper and Joeys are being installed currently. I did take my OTA module that i paid for thouigh out of the 922 if anyone wants it :)

This whole issue has been very irritating recently. The last 3 days in a row i have come home to a receiver that has black screens on all Sat channels, works on OTA and recording playback. It lists all of the timers as having been Completed today however not a single one is actually on the DVR...

I had initial issues with my 922, such as it locked up when i plugged the EHD from the 622 into it, it crashed when loading media from my network etc.... but when it comes to the satellite part and doing what its designed for primarily its been solid. One time it messed up the DVR listings and...

I called and they are find with giving me the 922, but i have to pay $95 for the tech visit to install it. If I am going to have a tech come out i think i will have them keep my 622 on the account and just use it for the kids in the other room.

I got charged twice. Hadnt received my card, got the message on screen so called them. Got a card by UPS and activated using this card though a chat. While in chat i checked bill.... two charges for cards to be shipped out to me! I have since received another card USPS and another one UPS...

Really then the cost doesnt bother me much, though HD would be nice on the locals that come over the sat, in the end i pay 5 bucks for the convenience of using DIshs equipment to record locals.

What sort of infrastructure does it take to get the locals out of the local area and up to the sats for sending on to subscribers? Am assuming there is cost involved there.

That would have been mine except my 622 is on a UPS which of course destroys the Homeplug signal getting to it. Funny enough though its ethernet is plugged into a Homeplug adaptor on the wall which carries it to the MBR1000 :)

Thats how my whole house uses the internet (well its a Sprint card but same theory). Cradlepoint MBR1000 mounted by front window with a little extended antenna on the window. If i go away i pop the USB card out of the Cradlepoint and take it with me and laptop.... come home and pop it back in.

I have been having a similar issue but not on SD, on HD. My receiver is attached via optical and i thought i just had a bad recording of Flashpoint from the OTA last night.. everyones voice was muffled. Went over to sat channels, all fine. A little while later switched to a live movie in HD...

Wouldnt this would require that to be a real 6 channel display when it is i believe a fake, if it was real then you would need a receiver that could tune to 6 separate channels at once, which you dont.... Thats just a guess though, i have no idea how it actually works. -Jonathan

Honestly Voom was great, but if Dish lights up a load of HD that has Motorsports, Action Movies and soft porn, then i will soon forget what went before :) I will miss UFO, Thunderbirds and watching HDNews but in the end i want all my regular channels from FX and Speed to Military and Comedy...

Agreed. TV1 and TV2 are outputs, Tuners 1/2 and OTA are inputs, is how i would see it. So i can record from all three inputs simultaneously and then watch two different recorded shows on the two outputs. I beleive you 100% on the separation of these items.

Dual mode, i keep the kids TV heavily restricted. They have their own favourites and ratings locks etc... Personally i like single mode but then i loose the ability to keep them locked down.
