Press abd hold "0" on the remote to enter the Back up Wizard. If they have the ota module, the Wizard will also store the scanned ota stations.

I have both my HWS's plugged into UPS's. Never had any problems. I've always had any receiver I've had plugged into one. I've been with Dish for close to 20 years. In case of a brief power outage, the dvr won't reboot. Important if you are recording.

I think waiting is a mistake. Get the better dvr now with better features. Add the 4K Joey when it becomes available. Who know when that will be. Until it is actually released it is nothing more than Vaporware!

An advantage of having 2 Hoppers is that if there is a timing conflict when you set up q timer, it will ask you if you want to use the other Hopper to record.

The Hopper will tell you what % of the internal hard drive us used. That way you know when to transfer recordings to the ehd.

Which receiver? If it's a VIP dvr, get an ehd and dump as much as you can from the dvr to the ehd.

Was Netflix availabe on the Joey prior to S523? I don't subscribe to Netflix.
