    Remaining two Syracuse HD Locals

Any news on when the remaining two Syracuse, NY HD locals (ABC and CBS) will be made available? They have been uplinked for several weeks, but are not yet available. Does anyone have any info if this is a technical issue or if a contract is still being negotiated?

    Albany, NY HD Locals

Here in Syracuse, E* would be the only provider to have Syracuse HD locals other than Time Warner. I don't think D* even has them uplinked. They would definitly have a great marketing tool if they got off their lazy butts and turned them on. Coming "soon" only works for so long!

    Albany, NY HD Locals

According to Scott G., Syracuse, NY and Albany, NY have won the lottery for being turned-on this week along with the CT and ME locals. Up to now all we have seen is CT and ME. What's the deal Scott, will I be getting Syracuse HD locals today?

Where are the Syracuse, NY HD locals? Acording to Scott G. they were supposed to be turned on this week. Are they still scheduled for today?

    Syracuse, NY HD Locals

Scott, Do you have any word from your contacts as when the uplinked Syrcause HD locals will be made available? I have received an e-mail from E* saying that HD locals will be available soon. Any info? Do you think that they will be turned on at the same time as Buffalo?

KBS World Included with AT60 with SuperDISH... Any Update?

I'm not sure where in Upstate NY you are located but, the Syracuse, NY local channels are on the 121 satellite and require a Superdish. Since you're having this 121 dish installed you might want to consider adding the Syracuse locals to your package for just $5.99 (if your in the Syracuse DMA).

    baseball question

I haven't heard anything about D* or E* signing an agreement for this new station. Remember, this is a channel co-owned by TW and Comcast and they are under no obligation to distribute this channel to DBS systems. There is a possibility that this will be a cable only network just like CSN...

OLN Dropped by Dish over Programming Disputes

Agreed. I'm not a hockey fan but, I think everyone needs to relax. This is only affects a small number of games and is just a negotiation tactic. Actually I don't think the NHL will be on OLN next year based upon their ratings on that channel. According to USA Today the ratings are virtually...

    Viacom Debacle

I still tend to think that agreements for the Viacom networks (i.e. Nick, MTV, Noggin, etc.) will still be valid for the new Viacom Inc. and that if anything is affected by this change it would only be the CBS/UPN O&O stations that would be under CBS Corp. control.

    Viacom Debacle

Most often, the agreement carries over to the new division. Afterall, it is still Viacom, just a new division. Both companies will still have the same chairman, Sumner Redstone. It's not like they sold this division to Comcast.

    Dish Nightmare

Paul, Please don't belittle all E* installations because of your experience. My installation went off without a hitch via DNSC. It was a Superdish pole mount and the installers did a great job (it was a two man crew). They even dug a trench to bury the cable and carefully replaced the sod...

    I'm done with Dish........

I did just the opposite. I had Dish from 1999-2004 and then switched to D*(I made the mistake of listening to the D* cheerleaders). I switched back to E* this past June and couldn't be happier. I found that D* just wasn't for me for the following reasons: 1. PQ is better on E*. I know that PQ...

    I have MSG and FOXP2

They way I read it, we should get everything except for the Mets. Of course, they'll be on their own network next season anyway.

    lousy locals

I don't have HD and watch Dish on a 27" TV via RCA component video cables and my Syracuse, NY locals via my 121 Superdish look fine. I think pixelation most noticeable on large screen HD televisions. Please keep in mind that the quality of the picture is strongly related to the quality of the...

    Updated Dish 1000 Info

Not all areas of the Northeast have poor signal with a superdish. For example, areas in the Northeast that use the 121 satellite such as my area, Syracuse, NY, actually have quite good signal levels with the superdish. My Syracuse locals are on transponder 30 and I have a signal level of 88...

Where should I order dish? Dishs site says I cant get installation for 2 weeks..

I think they were using a two man crew because it was around 100 degrees and 75% humidity here in the Syracuse, NY area that day! These guys were very professional and knew their stuff. I should know, as I have done numerous self-installs for relatives and I work for PPC which makes probably...

Where should I order dish? Dishs site says I cant get installation for 2 weeks..

This isn't always true! My Superdish/322 system was installed by DNSC and it was installed perfectly. The installation job was superb and the dish is truly peaked. In fact, this was a two man crew that DNSC was using for my installation! Johnwashere, I wouldn't hesitate to use DNSC again -...

Dish website package listing snafu - fixed.

This is almost certainly an error as the online channel listings show these channels as being included all the way through September 2!

Dish website package listing snafu - fixed.

I agree, it's more than likely just web site error. I've worked on web sites, and believe me it is quite easy to accidentally upload the wrong files and not even realize it. Dish signed a long term agreement with Viacom last year therefore, there would be absolutely no reason for Dish to...

    Returning Dish Customer Deals

Call Dish directly (not a retailer) and ask about the Former Sub DHA plan. I just did this on June 25th. It requires a 24 month commitment but, you will get your locals (superdish for free if needed) and new receiver(s). This is a lease plan and includes the extended warranty for free for the...

    Any news on Sinclair negotiations?

I know that they extended the contract until July 31, 2005 but, I haven't heard anything since. Anyone have any news? My gut feeling is that they will come to an agreement as Sinclair just owns too many stations around the country for Dish to loose. For example, here in Syracuse alone, I...

What pro sports teams can I watch?

Hi Neighbor! I have AT120 w/ locals and I am located in the Village of Liverpool, NY. With FOXP2 you will receive no pro-sports via this channel. I have heard that if you get the Multi-Sports Pack you can watch some pro-sports on Madison Square Garden (MSG). However, I think that the Mets are...

I can't watch the Yankees because cable does?

Maybe the cost of steroids has gone up! :haha I'm a Yankee fan (not hard core, though) but, I agree with Dish, YES belongs in the sports pack. Personally, I don't want to pay extra for his overpriced network to be in the AT120 package!

I can't watch the Yankees because cable does?

This blackout rule may be true in the tri-state area but, here in Syracuse, NY, I am pretty sure I have been able to watch the Yankees on occasion ESPN. I also think that if it's a national ESPN broadcast, YES cannot enforce their blackout rights.
