    Service Restored to 129 Satellite!

So far I'm getting WGN, TNT and WGN on HD. All locals and most of the regular HD are out- I'm in the Twin Cities.

    Hesitation on channels

On my 522 it takes about 1-2 secs to switch to another channel. My HDTV with OTA broadcasts takes at least that long too.

    522 and exterior antenna connection

No- TV2 is a brand new Sharp 32" LCD HDTV (if that's what you're asking). I guess I'm just using the VCR as a pass through from the DVR TV2 output and using RCA cables from the VCR to the jacks on the back of the TV. I have it hooked up and it seems to work. The SD signal from the sat box...

    522 and exterior antenna connection

I just got off chat with a Dish rep- she suggested connecting the TV2 output to a VCR and using RCA cables for the DVR functions and just plug the antenna in to the coax on the TV. She also mentioned using a switch to. I didn't realize this would be so complicated. I really appreciate all the...

    522 and exterior antenna connection

I went from 22 to 69, and while the signal was a bit better on lower channels, the DVR picture was still pretty bad.

    522 and exterior antenna connection

I tried the 2 splitter method, and I don't get the OTA digital signal. I tried Fredinva's suggestion, and while I get a good OTA signal, the picture from the DVR is really bad. I did adjust the TV2 modulation (both analog and cable) but it's not good. I'm stuck now...

    522 and exterior antenna connection

Great! Thanks a LOT! I'll try that when I get home. EDIT: Looking at the Pro Satellite Supply site, which splitters would I need? Thanks.

    522 and exterior antenna connection

KAB- so you're saying I need to have the antenna feed going to the receiver, correct? I almost need a diagram to figure this out...

    522 and exterior antenna connection

The new HDTV only has one coax input. I think I should have thought this through a little more.

    522 and exterior antenna connection

I read this post http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-technical-discussions/137214-how-feed-external-antenna-tv2.html and I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I have a 522 connected to 2 TV's. The 522 and TV1 are right next to each other in the living room. I want an over the air...

    If my 522 gets replaced...

Of the 5-6 522's that I have sent back to Dish since 2004 they have all been replaced with junky 522's, not matter how much I screamed, cried, threw a tantrum, etc. Now my current 522 (only 7-8 months old) has the famous audio clicking/ popping status. Thanks Dish :down !

Question about a 522 loosing signal

Yeah, that doesn't sound right. I've gone through about half a dozen of these darned 522's in 3 years.

    522 tuner not shutting off

I figured it out going through the menu options for system standby (inactivity standby set after 4 hours Menu 8-8). I don't like having the hard drive and cooling fan running 24/7. Thanks.

    522 or dish?

This happened to my 522 about a month ago (check switch OK on TV1, TV2 no input- switched cables in back of 522, check switch again, same message). Luckily I had a few weeks of the 1 year warranty left on my last replacement 522 so I only had to pay $14.95 s/h for the new receiver.

    522 tuner not shutting off

Well, I do get the auto updates for the program guides. I'll dig into the menu a little further and see what I can find. Thanks.

    522 tuner not shutting off

I just got my 5th or 6th replacement 522 a month ago, and I noticed that the TV1 and TV2 tuners are not shutting off overnight like the old 522 boxes used to (when I don't have anything set to record). Is this really a big deal? I've gone though so many 522 receivers I think the tuners...

    Lightning hit?

Had a fairly good thunderstorm move through the area this afternoon. While I didn't loose power, my 522 mysteriously died (now the 4th one since Dec '04). Did all the usual restart procedures and no-go. Dish is shipping out a new one ($14.95 s/h of course). In the mean time, I'm bringing up...

I think my 522 got smarter

My 522 still records all old episodes when set to record only new. It's a hassle to delete all the old ones.

522 with 2.51 ... Caller ID still problematic

Yup, the caller ID function should be a no brainer. When my wife calls me on her cell phone it shows up as unavailable on the TV but the landline caller ID shows the correct info.

    Two new problems with 522

Right after my 522 uploaded the new 2.51 update it crashed (read my post here ). The new 522 seems to working fine for now.

    DISH 522 with 2.51.... I LOVE IT!!

Well I'm glad someome likes the new software. As soon as my 522 got the 2.51 update last week it went completely nuts and eventually quit working. I'm on my 3rd 522 since December.

522 responding slow after 2.51 update

I called Dish back today after the receiver went through the hard drive diagnostic for the third time in 24 hours, said it wasn't hooked up to the phone line (it is and I tested the line), and failed twice to upload the programming guide. Dish is sending out a new 522. Hopefully third times a...

522 responding slow after 2.51 update

OK- Sat 110 xpdr 11 signal strength 73-74, xpdr 12 signal 71-73 Sat 119 xpdr 11 signal 90-92, xpdr 12 signal 90-91. This seems a little worse than normal on a perfectly clear blue sky. I'm still getting picture freezes for 5-10 seconds on live TV, along with audio dropouts. I did another...
